I like slu's posts. I like nan's posts. I like this site. I don't see why anyone should get so upset as long as there are no personal insults. I guess to each his own . . .

I really like the addition of Butler to this team for the simple fact that she adds size to the lineup which could be crucial against south carolina. However, I have noticed that she is a shoot first pass second player so far. There were a few times when she simply forced shots, once even twice in one possession both through double teams. I like the offensive aggression and rebounding, but sometimes passing is the best choice. It looks nice when they go in (the few heavily contested jumpers her first game) but ugly when they aren't.

Honestly, Can't fault the player who was so heavily relied on at Georgetown to produce on the scoreboard. I have confidence she will settle in and provide meaningful minutes come tournament time. Just thinking her facilitating could improve, but maybe thats the spoiled me talking after our years with Stef Dolson .

I must say I have no direct knowledge of people who haven't posted because of it - just guessing. However to your point, I did ignore it for a long time. Or maybe just made a sarcastic reply. But then it was happening over and over and over (Like calpedaler just said) and it just got to be a major annoyance. Like a blight on the community that prides itself on constructive criticism (Not destructive). As has been said here before parents and relatives of these players read these boards. One of the unique things about this site is the general positive attitude of the people who have posted over the years. It would be nice if it stayed that way.

I think the mods do a great job. If someone is being offensive in which a family would be insulted they step on it. So on here you got any examples of over-the-line for parents? If there were, I would think the mods stomped it out, right?

Why call out a critic and then complain when they appear? Just not sure of how this board stuff works. Thought it was supposed to be about dialog and debate but this has the flavor of a knitting circle where all should have the same stich on the same evening.
I'm confused, and here is a team all in the same uniform the same way .

As someone who didn't participate in the game thread and is about to speak in generalities, I can't put an end to your confusion, but I can call a halt to furthering the kerfuffle.

The problem is that not everyone can ignore things they find especially irritating. In this case we're speaking not of occasional criticisms perceived as too harsh but of repeated criticisms perceived as pounding away on selected players.

Serial hits of this sort appear to be a tendency of some people in reaction to the stress of the more challenging games. And sometimes they become a more durable pet theme. (Old-timers will recall the exploits of one BBallxxxxx.)

If there are enough people who feel this is going on (and recently there have been -- it's not just the ones who came forward tonight) then we need to see if we can resolve the conflict while maintaining healthy game threads.

And we will, in a not-too-intrusive way. But that's enough on the subject for now.
