Summertime thread brought on by someone mentioning Shady Glen in another thread - memories of Storrs going back just a few years!:
So things that no longer exist:
1. Uconn apple orchards where the parking lot/bookstore/dorms now are - and buying bushels of apples every fall.
2. Watching the (dreadful) Uconn football games from the hillside (see #1)
3. Running on the track in the old field house
4. The Campus restaurant
5. The Universal food store
6. A campus with only like 5 stop signs
7. Sit ins in the presidents office and free concerts around the lake.
8. A grammer school where the town hall now is.
9. A very 'wet' campus with an 18 yr old drinking age
10. Separatist Rd as dirt and with no skating rink road connecting it to campus.
11. Campus police, not state police.
12. Mansfield training school.
