I didnt look very hard so maybe I missed it, but I'm surprised this isnt getting more talk. On their final basket, wasnt the ball still on the rim when Melo tipped it in, therefore it was basket interference? I watched the replay a few times and it looked like it was still on the rim. Also, Fair shuffled his feet so they couldve called a travel also, but that is rarely called. Thoughts?

I think the overhead replay showed it was off the rim. The refs let the "Euro-tip" go uncalled at the end of the game.

Bie East Officials have been terrible all season and that is for all teams not exclusively Uconn.

I thought it was basket interference when I saw it happening live. I thought it was basket interference when I saw the replays. And I thought it was basket interference when I watched the replay on the internet in slow motion. It happened so fast though that I can see how the refs didn't call it.

I thought it was interference live. Haven't watched anything from the game since then though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in college basketball, there's no such thing as "Big East officials."

Aren't they regional?

All I know is that the old, short, tubby white guy with white hair has butchered every game he has reffed for us this year.

They are hired by the conferences, but not exclusive to any conference.

Drummond's tip-in to tie the game, looked like a goaltend on the TV replay.
Either one, Melo's or AD's, could've been called & frankly I'm glad they weren't.
Regardless of outcome sometimes "less-is-more" from the refs, is just better for the game overall.

Napier was just standing there. He should've rooted Melo out under the basket.

i noticed this too. it seemed to me the officials were letting them play. i have no problem with the games officiating because it was bad but consistant. we didnt lose because of poor officiating.

fwiw, Fair did take 3 steps there. i could tell that he traveled all the way from the last row of sec. 221... not that its ever called though

Sure looked like it to me.

I hated Dyson for the very same fact that he couldnt block out guys that outweighed him by a hundred pounds and were a foot taller than him.

Well it is a all a matter of perspective and opinion I guess, but apparently the officials felt that the tip in counts.

I was so incensed by the lack of a goaltend call on the melo tip in that I completely missed the Smith no call debacle.
