eImpressive, hope she stays there for 5+ more years (even with her ND background). I’ll be cheering for them.

As a fellow Domer (ND shorthand for Notre Dame alumni), I'm always proud of Megan Duffy. Class act. What you see is what you get. Plainspoken. Her charges believe in her. She's averaged 20+ wins in her two seasons when she was left with no starters (all five of whom had scored 1,000 pts. each!) and a bench that had very little individual and/or collective playing time. She's superb at developing and maximizing the talent she does have and her charges play hard and smart for her.

Look forward to their game in the NCAA and how she and the Warriors progress moving forward.

I was pretty sure that Coach Duffy had visions of sugar plums dancing in her head after the "close" game her team played v UConn at Storrs. She may have thought "We can beat these guys; they put on their shorts the same as we do." The second thought was correct, except that it isn't HOW you put on your shorts but on WHOM you put the shorts. Last night the team in UConn's shorts was superior, and the game was over by the end of the 1st qtr. The plums had turned to prunes.
But thanks to Marquette for offering a bit of resistance; this may be a good rivalry going forward. As for the Huskies, they must now face a really good team to attest to their ascendance.

I like Duffy and her team plays hard. It's always hard to find the line between needing to establish that you won't be pushed around and being too physical (Taylor)... I guess you count on the refs to set that line.

Marquette was obviously well coached as I watched that game. She did a lot of coaching and not much bitching at all despite UConn getting very few fouls called on them. Husky girls were really good on defense and there were very few open lanes to the basket for her kids, but they played hard and it was telling as you watched. Great start by the girls offensively too took the wind out of the sails for the Warriors. But I wold bet this prepped them for the dance, they will be a tough out I am sure.

Megan Duffy can coach. And she is a class act.

She admitted they got their butts kick but good. No shifting the blame, no whining, and no throwing players under the bus. I think she may have thought after the last game in Storrs they had a legitimate shot at an upset.

Looking forward to more games against Marquette. Duffy will work hard to bring their game up to challenge UConn.

How bout Uconn 5 yrs from now? Geno is 67 in 2 weeks. He’s gotta step down some time. What coach is out there that he really likes that? That he could name successor?

When Ohio state decides to move on from their current coach I think she would be an obvious choice
I hope she sees a future right where she is and helps build the BE into a formidable conference. Obviously a good coach and in game constantly working.
There is ONLY one thing you can say is that, "Megan Duffy is a CLASS ACT" She WILL be a force for many years to come.
Agree and I hope it's with The Big East.

Gosh, what a refreshing attitude. We all knew she could coach. I want her at Purdue tomorrow. If I had the cash...lol, I'd make it happen. The college game is definitely better with her on the sidelines. It will be very interesting to see where her journey takes her. She's definitely got what it takes....

Are you a Purdue fan/alum? If so, may I direct your attention over to IUPUI, where former Purdue guard (and alum) Austin Parkinson has built them into a strong program. Think he's a natural to come back to the alma mater.

Off topic a bit, you've got some of the Irish in West Lafayette already with Jaden Ivey - Niele's son -- playing on the men's team.

I lived and worked in Lafayette from 1989-2003, and started following the women during that time. I grew up an IU mens fan, but had Purdue mens season tickets for several years while I lived there.

There's speculation on the Purdue boards that a replacement for Versyp has already been selected and is supposed to be a former Purdue player, but other than that not much info has been discussed.
I'd be happy with Parkinson, one of my high school friends daughter actually played for IUPUI for a couple years before focusing on her studies only.

Due to my crazy work schedule I've only seen bits and pieces of Jaden playing or any college basketball this season. But his future appears to be very bright.
