Although I love Basketball and many other UConn athletic teams, I am becoming very impressed and pleased with the emphasis UConn is placing on football. The hiring of Beth Goetz sends a strong message to the rest of the country that UConn takes it Athletics and more specifically football, very seriously. This was a very good hire. I think by this hire UConn helps it Conference Realignment bid.

Getting her as a hire is an indicator of raising your athletic profile.

It's a parrallel move job title wise but she wasn't going from B10 to AAC. She has contacts and is aware of what is going on with P5/G5.
