MD Guard Mincy ACL

[SARG 2011]

Rich Elliott is reporting that Laurin Mincy tore her acl in the Nebraska game. I don't know who else MD has at guard with experience, Monday may get ugly.

Ugh. So that means MD is down to 3 guards (Pavlech, Austin and Rutan) who will be trying to get the ball to what is a pretty good front line.

That really stinks. She was playing well, this year. I was watching that game, and saw her go down. It didn't look good at the time, but I didn't see any updates yesterday. I don't know who else they have to run the point, but Alyssa Thomas is going to be tough for anyone to handle.

That's good to hear - when is the cutoff for red-shirting? Is it after a certain % of games in the schedule?

I think 30% of regular season games which is about 8.

It won't be pretty. But turtle soup never is.....

Awful news...... she was a really really good SG.... definitely one of the better players in the ACC... always enjoyed watching her game.

Frese's comment about UConn's depth this season sounds like a cry of woe in view of the Mincy loss. This episode just underlines what the 'discovery' of Brianna Banks could mean this season for Geno.

Thomas played PG late in the game vs Nebraska. Pavlech struggled against pressure from Nebraska. Austin is a walk-on from a small private school. Rutan is a shooter, and a fair ball handler.

I am sure Brenda wants transfers Cloud, and Taylor back now.

Rutan is a shooter. And she will shoot and shoot and then shoot it again. She had some great games for Xavier - let's just hope we don't let her hit about 10 3's.

In order to apply for a medical redshirt yes. Technically, you burn a year of eligibility the second you go in a game, but you may be granted a medical shirt based on how little of the season had elapsed.
