Jones has been tough all game. She's an excellent player. I'd like her on our team.

How can anyone say that 6'5" Natalie Butler would not have helped in defending Brianna Jones tonight?!? I am just puzzled as to why she's not playing. If it's due to injury than red shirt her.

Well normally, yes of course. But like Nan said she hasn't played a real game in so long this is NOT the place to stick her in.
Even if she's 7 feet tall.

We had only one turnover in the second half.

Gutsy play by Maryland. Much more competitive game then I thought it would be. Didn't think Maryland could score 73 points. UConn wins by 10 points 83 -73. As I said in my poll question asking how many points would Maryland score, I said it would take 81+

After the 1st quarter we were on pace for 84. HAve 71 now with 3 to go. Not horrible.
Wow...83!!!

And an Andre Drummond sighting!

Is Natalie now seven feet tall? Amazing how these kids get growth spurts!

Could well be the biggest turnover turnaround stay in the history of the program, from half to half

She can't redshirt. Already burned her redshirt year transferring.

Becca's point is spot on. The rest of WCBB - South Carolina in particular -- now knows that we can be beaten. It will take a great game, but they've got to have hope now.

And rest assured that our coaches and players will prepare for the oncoming juggernaut.

Andre Drummond with Geno at the end of the game! Nice to see the appreciation from Andre! Andre is one good, friendly guy.

You're not going to be able to red shirt her. She already burned her one year sitting out last season due to the transfer. NCAA rarely grants a 6th year. And you'd have to start with trying to prove her injury is season ending.

Uhhhhh....UConn won. There was no solution for MD. And there isn't for anyone else. UConn had a very rare "off" game.

Uhhh, yeah, I noticed. If you don't think Dawn Staley is using this tape as a huge motivator for her kids, you don't know Dawn Staley. We didn't have a team shooting 3s out its butt tonight to stay close, as we did against ND and DePaul. Tonight, we just got worked hard - outworked at times. Staley will use that.

I will bet that the Huskies heard some words at halftime that they had never heard before.
(At least with the same emphasis.)

Nah Butler wouldn't have helped us tonight at all. We have Williams trying to guard Jones for the love of Pete. All you joking?

Tell me how well Jones did on defense? You want a bet we were outscored big time from 3? Just because you don't want to focus on how we also scored easily in the paint doesn't eman it didn't happen. Yet you think Butler's offense will automatically open op the floor for us?

Wha twere the circumstances of Chong's 3?

Unlike the Notre Dame game which we won once we busted it by 20 or so- this game was tight. Nice job MD.

md 8/21, UConn 6/17. Pretty comparable.

Very exciting game. Congrats to Maryland to play a great game. The best so far to me.

What? All I am saying is Butler(If healthy and If she had been healthy all year and playing) would have helped stop Jones. That's all I said.
