Kentucky gets 5 this year. When was the last time we had a MAA? Does anyone know?

Drummond actually wasn't one because he reclassed so late in the year. He likely would have been on the list had he stayed in his original class.

Almost all of our McDonalds AAs have turned out really well.

Donyell
Rip
Khalid
Charlie V
Rudy Gay
Kemba

Taliek had a very good career but did not necessarily live up to expectations. Nor did Omar Cook or Andre Barrett for that matter.

Caron would have been a McD AA if he didn't reclassify.

Scott Hazleton is the only one that didn't really work out.

Calhoun's magic was also getting those top 50 players that didn't quite make the Mc AA game and developing them - Emeka, Gordon, Ray

I'm a Taliek guy, but that's a fair comment. He was in a Holy Trinity of NYC point guards and we were hoping he'd be the next Khalid. He wasn't that good. But he found his role and won. Ricky (who was a top 30 guy a cut below McDs) was the same way.

Do you remember the hype around Cook, Barrett and Brown? None of them met expectations, let's be serious. Then again, when is the last time a NYC point guard actually met expectations. (Seriously, try to think about this one).

You mean, like, bring us a National Championship? Oh wait...

Kemba Walker?

We thought he'd be the best or second best player on a NC team, like KEA.

Emeka and Ben, at least, were clearly better. And one can make the argument that the team really hit its stride when it started giving major minutes to Rashad.

So yeah, he won a title. I like him. We don't win a title without him. But we don't win a title without Jake Voskhul. If he were a McD AA, we would say he didn't live up to hype.

I mean just one national championship? PFFT! Freaking underachiever.

They have 5 on the current team that just got assbanged by Bama? The rest of how this season plays out will say a lot about how much coaching the squid does nowadays.
