I thought they would also have her playing the drums in the opening....that would have made it perfect. I recognized her right away.

Funny! I had the exact same thought. After I recognized Maya, I clicked back to see if she was on the drums. It would have been perfect for us UConn fans if she was, but in the context of the scene, probably not.
