Maya played her first game for Ros Casares yesterday, a 105-56 win over Cadi La Seu. In 18 minutes off the bench, Maya scored 14 points on 5-8 shooting (3-4 on 3s), grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out a couple of assists. Lauren Jackson scored 10, Sancho Lyttle 14 and Shay Murphy was the leading scorer with 18. Nice debut.

That's what Geno thought too. Maybe the best bench player ever.

Havlicek wasn't bad either ....:p

But seriously, folks, that's a nice 18-minute contribution for Maya in her first live Euroleague game. I would say "especially after a long layoff" but I think the layoff helped her rest and recharge, and competitive energy is 80% of her game!

Yeah, Hondo was a very high scorer for a nonstarter. He certainly played like a starter well before he became one. Did the 6th man award get created for his situation?

Danny Ainge filled that 6th Man role in Boston, too.

Two former UConn players each scored 38 points last night - Tina had 38 and 9 in a losing effort while Charde (in a different game) had 38 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in her team's win. Article on both games.

Thanks for the link.

Diana leads the league in scoring. No surprise there.

UConn is well represented in international competition.

Go Huskies!

Peace,

John Fryer

Tina is a beast. In that game, she was a superbeast.

Nice to see Charde with a huge game, especially with the little PT she got in Minnesota. However, her team is in last place.

Nice to see Ashley Walker and Jayne Appel doing well too.
