Boy -- Maya has gotten picked and had some passes snagged tonight. Gotta tighten up. Have to be really efficient against this Merc team!

That happens a lot....Often, Griner gets pulled out of the paint and out of position which is why she doesn't get the rebounds...

Dee shoots and makes a 2 on a nifty crossover, we have a time out with 21.5 left in the half, and the score is 50- 40 Phoenix.
 
Gotta get a good play-call here to close the half. Keep it in single digits.

I'm not saying other players don't do it too. Two seasons ago at Gampel, UConn vs Baylor, Griner literally tugged Dolson down as they were running upcourt after a rebound. Dolson landed really hard because she didn't have time to break her fall. It was completely unnecessary.

And before you get all upset, I really like Griner. And I know she gets beat up too. It was just an observation. I don't like when Dee gets technicals for being stupid and mouthy.
 
Lyndsey drives to the basket on an OPEN HIGHWAY and scores two, Bonner's prayer is not answered on the other end, at the end of the half the score is 50 - 42 Phoenix

Her "silent" stat, for which she trades away some rebounds, is shots altered / intimidated

Dupree just watched Whalen drive to the basket. If nothing else go knock her to the ground and make her feel it. This is playoff basketball, not a layup drill.
 
Great play call to end the half!!! God that was just a sweet play. Maya with a linebacker screen and I think SA set the other one, with Whay on the curl.

I think I could have scored on that one :)
 
Whalen is playing spectacular ball. She will be on the National team, without any doubt in my mind.
 
Griner, Dee and Bonner each have 15, 15, and 12 respectively for Phoenix. I was right, Taylor has 2 fouls as does Mr Checker's little girl. Diana has 4 assists

They just replayed Griner following the shot and the putback, flying through the paint. It was pretty cool.

Whelan has 14, Maya has 10, and Seimone has only 8 (thought she had more) for the Lynx. Whelan continues to fill up the stat sheet with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Maya and McCarville have 2 fouls each.

The lead is 8 for Phoenix at the half....same as on Sunday

Just so we're clear, you're intentionally misspelling Whalen's first and last names, correct?
 
I wouldn't leave Whalen home in October either.

Actually, no. I am typing and not looking at the keyboard. you also should notice that my posts tend to be neutral and not negative, and I would not disparage a player intentionally this way. I will try to get it right going forward.
 
OK - Taylor and Moore both have 3 fouls, and Griner just slapped her way into her second and...

Uh -oh, Taylor just got her fourth.

6:23 to go, 60 - 52 Phoenix
 
Seimone in trouble, passes to Moore who shoots and scores 2
