She must have been unanimous -- how could anyone not vote for Maya?!

And if you continue to scroll down, there's an article on the Team USA vs. Naples game.

Happy to see Bonner on the first team. She really put the team on her back in a lot of games and always drew the toughest defensive assignment. She had a great year and I hope she gets some consideration for the Olympic team.

2 Merc, 2 Lib, 2 Sky - interesting.

I like Bonner, I'm not thinking of her for Olympic consideration, really. Of course, I have no idea how she performs overseas or fits in with the international game. I will say she has both height and range for her position, but is very, very streaky.

Congrats to Maya and Tina. And Bonner - the 2 seasons Dee has not played for Phx, she really stepped it up. Most of the UCONN alums had terrific seasons.

My only grievance is that the 1st team basically has five forwards on it.

I haven't watched that much Mercury, but I think Bonner did play mostly SG. When I saw McCoughtry, she was mostly playing SF. Charles started at PF every time I saw her. The ESPN box scores actually show NY as starting two centers and only one forward. But I usually saw her guarding PFs, so that's what I'm calling her.

If we're being honest about positions, the first team should have been:

G - Prince
G - Bonner
F - Moore
F - Delle Donne
C - Griner

Which would make the 2nd team

G - Vandersloot
G - ???
F - Parker
F - Charles
C - ???

And McCoughtry and Catchings (forwards #5 and #6) would be off the team.

Has EDD replaced Maya as wbb's best player? Does it matter?
I'm not sure Maya is the best - what about DT?

Actually, there are aspects of EDD's game that are better than Maya's. And vice versa. If you had both of them on your team, that would be an abundance of talent.

It is fun to discuss who's best - the devil is in how you define it.
