yeah she did have some 'rookie moments' out there, as Reeve pointed out.... I was like "No, Maya, no!" while I saw it happen. But hitting that huge 3 late was awesome, and she was in there scrapping, got a few late rebounds and hustle plays, etc.

Let me join the chorus. I also agree. However, the mistakes most rookies make is not adjusting the speed, instincts, talent level, skills, savvy, and experience of their competition.
