Watching the overnight SportsCenter and they ran a nice little feature on Maya Moore in the Top 10 Plays of the Month Segment. Her buzzer beater in game 3 of the WNBA championship series came in at the #5 and then they mentioned the 'league of her own' bit by pointing out that in her first five seasons she's won three titles, an MVP award & a Rookie of the Year award.

Look how even opposing fans honor Miss Maya Moore!

Maya is arguably the most respected player in the league, along with Catch and Sue. I recall hearing the L.A. huddle, when they were in a close, late-game situation and Brian Agler was telling them to foul. Candace Parker said, "Don't foul Maya." On late game free throws, she's money. Similarly with late game 3-pointers from the top of the key. Maya Moore must be the luckiest play ever to have been on so many championship teams. ;)

Let's not forget her two Chinese titles as well

Maya was 3-4 in high school (plus 1 national championship), 2-4 at UConn, 3-5 in the WNBA, 1-1 in Spain, 1-1 in the Euroleague, 3-3 in China, 1-1 in the FIBA WCs, and 1-1 in the Olympics. That's 15 championships in 20 tries. She is in a league of her own. She has won at every level, in every league, and done so at a 50% rate or higher. Unparalleled. At age 26.

WOW - can't believe such a staunch defender of all things Uconn could short change Miss Maya on a WC, but you did!:)
Maya Moore is proud owner of two FIBA WC Golds - she is 2 for 2 having played somewhat sparingly in the 2010 WC as a college player.

Aargh! Yes, I forgot the one I didn't see in person. So, she's 16 for 21. One WC as a college player and the MVP/MOP her next time out, 4 years later.
