I'm halfway through the book. It's a very good read from a social perspective, and of course, an athlete's perspective as well. These are two good people, and Maya is special. Like many former players, she doesn't show up at games much, if at all, which leaves one wondering how she felt about her time at UCONN (I could say this about other renowned former players as well). However, her adoration for Geno, the coaches, her teammates, and Husky Nation in general is unmistakable. What's interesting is her personal investment in the team as a leader, and the challenges she faced, especially in her Senior year. BTW, no mention of the Tennessee debacle. She came to UCONN because she knew that this school, above all others, would help her become the best player she could possibly be. She ultimately found a higher calling.

This benefits both sides, UConn women basketball and Maya's family. Why not? Maya is my favorite UConn player and I will try to buy anything associated with her.

Someone always has to find something to nitpick. She’s suppported UConn and the Huskies all these years by being an incredible player and human being. Like many alumni, she’s a perfect example of an ambassador for the program. What more could one ask for?

Isn't it great she is back?

And another poster implied she wasn't happy at UCONN but loves the coaches and all the players but because she doesn't come to games she doesn't like UCONN? Huh??? She quit basketball much earlier than she could have because she was done with the sport. So she's gonna travel to UCONN to watch games? .

I'd add to what's already been said -- Maya and Jonathan and their book are getting publicity for people who are unjustly imprisoned. I think that's a good thing, and I'll bet UConn, the coaching staff, and the players agree.
