William Jackson has been called “Turtle” since he was in the womb.
“(The nickname) came from my mother when she was having an ultrasound,” said Jackson, a standout on the Athens Christian boys basketball team. “They didn’t tell my parents if I was a boy or a girl. They would say a turtle or hamburger, so we just stuck with it.”
Get Jackson on the court, and out of his shell he comes.
Eagles coach Ron Link said he has not seen a player as explosive and exciting to watch as Jackson since Louis Williams attended one of Link’s basketball camps when the now Atlanta Hawks guard was a 14-year-old freshman at South Gwinnett High School.
