OT: Masters…who you got?

It should be an interesting final round. Rory playing great but fighting his inner demons. Bryson somehow managing to string together decent rounds despite not playing well. It would be great to see them both play great and give us a thriller, but I think if someone can put up a big number ahead of them, they will have a great shot as the odds of the final pair both melting under the pressure are fairly high.

There's the expression the Master's doesn't start until the 10th tee on Sunday. And Rory has that 10th tee snap hook in his memory bank. Fourteen years since he snapped that drive leading to a back 9 43 in 2011.

He’ll choke. For sure.

Bryson reminds me of a mechanical bull. And he doesn't have the pressure to win here as Rory. His short game has gotten really good to go with his longest drive techniques and its equipment. His starting iron is a 5 with a 2-iron loft. Thats what the game has evolved into. Longest drive techniques coupled with the short game using up to 5 wedges. Looking for Connors to get to a playoff and win. No rooting interest for the LIV fellas.

I really don’t care which one of them wins or if they both collapse. We know they both have the chance. But if Rory plays ok and shoots 71or 70 and Bryson plays better and shoots a 68, I would not put it past someone in the group of six players in that -5 to -6 under, to go out and shoot a 64 or 65. If they post with five or six holes left for the final group and neither has had a particularly good day who knows what could happen.

Who has the odds on field against Bryson and Rory today. There has to be one out there somewhere. I am in FL so I am limited to Hard Rock Bet which is probably the worst site of all those available to most people. Living in FL has its benefits but one of them is not access to on line gaming. I am not big into it anyway. But if I was getting like 4-1 on that I might think about wagering a few dollars.

I think their is a chance the winner is already in the clubhouse when the last putt of the tournament goes in the hole.

I just want it to be close. I really hope Rory does not come out and have a few bogies in the first five holes and Bryson plays clean in the beginning. If that happens I think Bryson wins. Rory’s best chance is to come out hot get a three or four shot lead then play solid over the last 12 holes. Sounds simple but history tells us it will not be that easy.

I’m in on Rory. He’s playing the best he has at this tournament over 3 straight days and it is time for him to get over the hump just like Paige and UCon just did.

Must be tough to play tennis on your high horse  The disdain tennis players have for pickle taking over their courts is very funny to me.

So how much money did you make playing tennis?

The irony is I don’t play either, but I see what’s happening.
I made more money teaching tennis than playing. I live in Connecticut and still have yet to see all these pickleball courts you claim are on every corner. Have not seen a one, though I have seen a couple tennis courts which have pickleball lines painted on them so you can play either pickleball or tennis on them.

I see a bunch of new pickleball and conversion courts when in Ct.
Down in Florida even more.
The urgent care centers and the doctors are the beneficiaries.

Where in CT? I haven’t seen any? My orthopedist can set up shop across the street.

It’s popular because it’s easier and cheaper to play for all ages, compared to golf or tennis, and it uses a plastic wiffelball with holes in it. As for injuries, imagine playing badminton on a hard court. If you want to tear your ACL or sprain your ankle, take up pickleball. Just google “pickleball injuries”. UBS has estimated that pickleball injuries have cost Americans $500 million in 2023 alone.
Yes but why pickleball over ping pong and badminton which have been around forever? Both ping pong and badminton are certainly better to watch, I have to imagine they're more fun to play. I grew up playing tennis, ping pong, and badminton and tennis is one of the greatest sports ever created IMO so I'm well versed in racquet sports but pickleball looks incredibly stupid.

My dad and his buddy wasted 5 grand a piece a very long time ago trying to create a sport called King Pong, it turns out they were like 40 years too early.

Actually pickleball has been around since the 1960’s, all during the tennis boom during the 70’s & 80’s & 90’s, when a lot of the top male and female tennis stars were Americans.

Man, Rory gets in his own head so much. It's tough to watch, I really want him to win this but yikes.
I'm dying to hear the explanation. He was looking left, set up left, and hit it right and short. Don't see pros do that often, if ever.

I was just going to post that Åberg is probably in best position to win this, just before that last Rory shot for a short eagle. If Rory makes eagle, I think he'll win the thing.

The cliche is a cliche for a reason.

So many risk/reward shots requiring nothing more than pulling off the shot.
