Both dead to me, along with DJ and the others that left for LIV.glad you said that. I am a fan of DeChambeau and Mickelson, and they absolutely refuse to cover PM too. I watched all the coverage yesterday and they finally showed him and he put it in the creek. They definitely choose who they want to promote.
I’m the opposite, not a fan of either since they bolted to LIV. I actually skip the Bryson highlights.glad you said that. I never heard anything remotely similar to paddle….ever. Pickleball is already more popular than tennis among players. How many pickle courts do you see being converted to tennis?? I see lots of tennis to paddle conversion. It will never be the pro sport tennis isYeah sure. That’s what everyone said about Paddleball, 30 years ago. Lol. Pickelball is fun to play and much easier to play well than tennis is, but so is Ping Pong, racquetball, squash, badminton and croquet. Take a tennis lesson, and maybe the light will go on for you. I don’t see ESPN, CBS, or NBC preempting hours of air time for Pickleball Tournaments like they do for Wimbledon, The French Open, The Australian Open or The US Open. Maybe the next Richard Williams should school his two young daughters in Pickelball instead? Show me one high school or middle school in the state of Connecticut that has pickelball courts, or Pickelball teams.
For the life of me I don't see why pickleball is popular? I get that anyone of any age or fitness can play but that can be said of ping pong and badminton as well. And in terms of viewing it's the worst racquet sport by far. I would rather watch people bowl or play billiards.Yeah sure. That’s what everyone said about Paddleball, 30 years ago. Lol. You say “lots”. Give me specific instances and name the locations of local tennis courts being torn down and converted to pickleball courts. Now I’m not arguing that in some cases there might be some private conversions of tennis to pickleball, or a town that has a zillion tennis courts converting a small percentage to pickleball, but when you say “lots”, I think you’re exaggerating. The reason for the conversions is simple, pickleball is much much easier to play and to play it well, tennis is not easy to play and play well, in most individual cases it takes years of practice, lessons, and coaching to play tennis and play it well. The same thing happened in the United States in the 1980’s with paddleball, although I will say that paddleball is still very big in Europe and South America, and I might add that Pickelball is not new, it’s been around since the 1960’s, and is very different than both paddleball and tennis. Pickelball uses a lightweight plastic wiffleball with holes in it, making it more like badminton. Whereas I’ve seen paddleball players using a tennis ball. Lastly I have seen people in the local town I live in using tennis courts to play pickleball, all that’s needed is a few different colored lines to define the much smaller pickleball court dimensions. The next thing you’ll tell me is pickleball is overtaking golf too.I never heard anything remotely similar to paddle….ever. Pickleball is already more popular than tennis among players. It’s popular because it’s easier and cheaper to play for all ages, compared to golf or tennis, and it uses a plastic wiffelball with holes in it. As for injuries, imagine playing badminton on a hard court. If you want to tear your ACL or sprain your ankle, take up pickleball. Just google “pickleball injuries”. UBS has estimated that pickleball injuries have cost Americans $500 million in 2023 alone. For the life of me I don't see why pickleball is popular? Good luck in your pickleball career.Wow. You have a love affair with tennis. Didn’t mean to demean your mistress
FYI, You didn’t need to explain pickleball.
You answer your own question why it’s more popular…it’s easier to play at a decent level
Courts surged to 68,458 in 2024 (18,455 new courts added), per USA Pickleball, with 15,910 locations (4,000 added in 2024). Florida (1,228 locations) and California (1,223) lead, followed by Texas (941). Many courts are retrofitted tennis courts, easing expansion.

The disdain tennis players have for pickle taking over their courts is very funny to me.It should be an interesting final round. Rory playing great but fighting his inner demons. Bryson somehow managing to string together decent rounds despite not playing well. It would be great to see them both play great and give us a thriller, but I think if someone can put up a big number ahead of them, they will have a great shot as the odds of the final pair both melting under the pressure are fairly high.
He’ll choke. For sure. There's the expression the Master's doesn't start until the 10th tee on Sunday. And Rory has that 10th tee snap hook in his memory bank. Fourteen years since he snapped that drive leading to a back 9 43 in 2011.
I think Rory takes it by two strokes. He’ll choke. For sure.
I made more money teaching tennis than playing. I live in Connecticut and still have yet to see all these pickleball courts you claim are on every corner. Have not seen a one, though I have seen a couple tennis courts which have pickleball lines painted on them so you can play either pickleball or tennis on them.Must be tough to play tennis on your high horseThe disdain tennis players have for pickle taking over their courts is very funny to me.
So how much money did you make playing tennis?
The irony is I don’t play either, but I see what’s happening.
I see a bunch of new pickleball and conversion courts when in Ct.I made more money teaching tennis than playing. I begged and goaded anyone into betting on him the first two days and you simps all shriveled away.I think Rory takes it by two strokes.
Where in CT? I haven’t seen any? My orthopedist can set up shop across the street.I see a bunch of new pickleball and conversion courts when in Ct.
Down in Florida even more.
The urgent care centers and the doctors are the beneficiaries.
You have an orthopedist because of tennis?Where in CT? I haven’t seen any? My orthopedist can set up shop across the street.
Yes but why pickleball over ping pong and badminton which have been around forever? Both ping pong and badminton are certainly better to watch, I have to imagine they're more fun to play. I grew up playing tennis, ping pong, and badminton and tennis is one of the greatest sports ever created IMO so I'm well versed in racquet sports but pickleball looks incredibly stupid. It’s popular because it’s easier and cheaper to play for all ages, compared to golf or tennis, and it uses a plastic wiffelball with holes in it.
