An interesting note in the Maryland/ South Carolina game: Maryland only used three players off the bench & they are all former Huskies.
*Amari DeBerry picked up three quick fouls and sat most of the game
*Mir McLean scored 4 points
*Saylor Poffenbarger played the most minutes, and was 2 for 9. She also had a critical turnover in the last minute.
South Carolina squeezed by Maryland, 71-67. The Terps hung tough until 3 late turnovers doomed them.

Maryland had control of this game and missed shots and turned the ball over in the last 4 minutes…sad to see their season end that way.
Yeah, they actually looked like the better team until they beat themselves. I was waiting for South Carolina to take charge, but Maryland imploded in the last minutes & gave them the game.

I agree. However, that official review and "clear and convincing evidence"
call was a KILLER! Possession to South Carolina (which was the right call)
but it took a LONG review and could only be seen on the STOP ACTION
of one of the reviews. IF the refs original (plausible, but wrong) decision
had stood... it could have really helped the Terrapin cause.

Yup, noticed that also. Whole bench was ex-UConn players.

Interestingly, my wife, who has a casual interest in watching UConn, remembered Amari and after watching her third foul, said “Guess some things never change….”
