Maryland -24 v UConn

I have a friend who was a cheerleader at Maryland. Years ago, a large group of us went to the UConn game when they hosted Maryland, the game where Stefon Diggs smoked us for one deep TD play.

Anyways, I just checked the box score, and I have a vivid memory of the 4th quarter: Maryland scores again and the score is 32-13 and my friend looks back from her seat and feigns so, I forgot my glasses, what's the score of the game?ˆ

Ever since then, I've wanted to seek revenge against the Maryland football program.

I have a different memory of UConn vs Maryland football. This was a fun trip.

It was a great trip and a great win. The the rest of the season not so much.

I know that we expected a better outcome last year, but we didn’t have the coaching pieces or the players. Now, we will have a new philosophy on offense, a lot of new and experienced legit FBS players and a more refined defense. I’m not sure we can beat Maryland, but I’m not sure we can’t either. We need our coaching staff to step up and do something special with a pretty solid roster. I’m not ready to concede a game to the likes of Maryland.

That is the lure of this season. There is an awful lot that is unknown. Given last year's results, I find that a reason for optimism.
