Marquette vs UNC

Watching Marquette, playing in one of the worst second halves I've ever seen, smash UNC at home is very lovely to watch.

This should knock them out of the discussion for an at-large.

They gotta be able to finish this one off. Should be a solid win for the conference. I have not paid a ton of attention to UNC. I thought they were horrible. Out of the tournament and no chance to make it unless they win ACC tournament horrible. Apparently they are currently considered a tournament team. Again, should be a solid conference win.

Finish it off? They smoked them.

Seton hall going to lose by double digits to a Butler team without their 2 best players?? Glad they’ll be off the bubble but makes that seton hall loss even more painful.

I think I could create a thread on anything, and another BY'er post the same. Guaranteed the second poster without my avatar benignly draws the attention of the BY'er. Just sayin.
These things happen, my man. VHS didn't beat Beta because it was technically superior. Sometimes you just gotta be in the right place at the right time.

2008-2013 was pretty ridiculous representation.

2008: Georgetown, Final Four
2009: UConn, Final Four
2009, Villanova, Final Four
2010, West Virginia, Final Four
2011: UConn, Champion
2012: Louisville, Final Four
2013: Syracuse, Final Four
2013: Louisville, Champion

6 Years, 2 Champions, a Final Four every single year with representation from 6 teams, and 8 total appearances. Not many conferences can match that streak.
3 #1 seeds in 2009
11 bids in 2011

The NBE was by far the best basketball league in history.

Why is UNC considered safely in the tournament by everyone? They haven't beaten anyone.
The same reason why Duke and Michigan State are creeping up. The letters on the front of the jersey. Committee will bend over backwards to sneak their darlings in. We cannot be anywhere near these teams in the bubble discussion

Marquette taking UNC to the cleaners is much more satisfying than watching Tulane lose to Louisiana-Lafayette every year.

The AAC always seemed to embarrass itself in the non-conference.
i honestly dont think i could list all the teams in the aac right now if i had to think about it, which i don't, because why would i?

The Big East is a lot better than the computer rankings, but the Big East teams hardly played any games. This is going to hurt the league on Selection Sunday in terms of # of bids and seedings.

Good news: All the Bubble teams from Big East are losing so we're going to pass them.

Bad news: We're going to lose all Q1 wins aside from USC.

I get that you are joking, but unless Xavier pulls off a miracle, tonight is a bloodbath for UConn's tournament resume outside of Marquette winning.

Seton Hall needs to stay top 75. They were 51 coming into today. That'll drop. And then we need to beat them to get that Q1, so by necessity they'll drop more. It is definitely a problem.

Xavier also needs to stay top 75. They've got Creighton at home next, so we'll definitely need to root for Xavier there.

We want that new head.

does seton hall losing, and marquette winning, make dan a better or worse coach today?
Only if an assistant coach reads the Boneyard chat during games and feeds the coaching charms to Dan Hurley.

No problem with Hall or Xavier losing tonight. They'll both remain Top 75 and we'll control our own destiny for third place. And the selection committee ain't leaving the third place BE team out of the big dance.

You don't see a benefit to us finishing 3rd in BE? Quad 1 or 2 wins might be a little less important this year. We just need to keep winning, 10 BE wins and no bad loses (yet anyway) would be a tourney resume imo. I can't see less than 4 BE teams making it.
