FT shooting is becoming a real issue. There will be games where it matters.
Overall a good Silas game and then everyone else was cold. Some brutal play by Mali and really a space cadet game by Reed. Hurley will have a lot to work on in practice, but a big east win is a big east win

Good signs from Silas apart from fouling.
More importantly, I'm very happy that Stew and Ross seem to trade having great games. They have both been the guys that save games from sliding and also have been responsible for big runs and timely energy plays.

Also, J Stew is a phenomenal passer with sharp instincts. Love that dude

No takeaways from that game other than Shaka should be embarrassed that's the team he put together for this season and Silas desperately needs to stop fouling.

That was our F game. Lazy passing the entire game, horrible shooting and the only one who looked excited to be out there was Jaylin Stewart. That looked liked one of those games where UConn was totally uninterested in playing a cupcake.

Over/under on Marquette winning 2 Big East games?

Knew the AK stinker was coming after Hurley was politicking for a BE POY award on NYE. Let the conference season at least get to the halfway point before starting that. Biggest takeaway was how bad Marquette is that UConn was able to play a D game and still sleepwalk to a 20+pt lead, Donny applauding Shaka for not going portal dipping and using this as a "development" year was comedy.

Slog but take it and move on. Great game by Stew. This team is good and deep. Each game we see different pieces flashing. Silas, getting some confidence in that 3.

Move on to Providence and keep working on those free throws, we need to be a 75% plus shooting team, today, 66%

Not a very pretty game, though there were with some bright spots with different players stepping up (particularly Silas on offense), showcasing the team's depth. The bottom line is it goes in the win column.

It can't be emphasized enough that this team has play with purpose, energy, and focus every single game. St. John's getting beaten yesterday at MSG by Providence is a great illustration of what can happen if they don't.

A win is a win but I don't feel so good about that one. Hope they play better on Wednesday. And shoot better from three. 5-24, 21% from three.

The offense still looks a little rough. Defense seems to be their calling card since that's been more consistent.

Question on Mullins. His shot selection is not the best. Freshman being a freshman. Do you just live with it knowing that he needs to go through this at this level to get better or do you ask him to rein it in a little?

He made 5 3’s last game.

Live with it. He’s obviously making them in practice
