Before last night they were averaging only 10 a game. It was a 1 game outlier. Turnovers have not been a problem for this team.
Without Liam and a healthy Hass, expect it to be ragged. Hopefully they’ll both get better quickly.

The PG experiment is pretty much over with, and we certainly don’t need him playing significant 2G minutes. Unless there mutual consent to being a spare bench piece again next year, in his senior year after starting his first 2 years for a tourney team, not sure how this one works out.
We have finite resources. Mahaneys NIL deals need to go to a starting transfer PG that can help us win a championship next year. Sorry not sorry.

I hope Nowell and Mahaney aren't are only PG options next year. I think Hurley will pick up a big atheltic PG to run the offense in the portal and they might groom Adams to be the backup PG. I'm not sure Nowell and Mahaney from I have seen are answers next year. I will give Nowell the benefit of the doubt since he is a freshmen and has battled injuries. I can't say the same for Mahaney who has been overall not effective for us besides a couple of spurts. I think it is pretty evident and Hurely even said Mahaney isn't a PG. He is only playing there now sine Nowell is hurt and has been inconsistent when playing.
I have no idea what your projection for Hassan was this season, but I recall many people on here lacking confidence that Hass could be a starting PG. In my opinion, he’s done a totally serviceable job at it this season. He’s not Tristen Newton, but I think he’s done his job admirably all season and continues to get better.

All of that is to say I wouldn’t count out Mahaney’s ability to step up and take on huge responsibility next year. I also wouldn’t count out Nowell’s ability to make a similar jump as the one Hass made from his first to his second season here.

There's no reason to be a dick about it.
What’s the nice way to say it? I didn’t say Hurley should force him out or pull his scholly. These aint student athletes anymore they’re making 6 figures.

Just not cool! He's one of our guys who is working hard and trying his best to improve and contribute.

How about we all go to your place of employment and tell them to fire you and hire someone else using the money they have been paying you?

Wow! Not appropriate whatsoever!

Cmon We don’t have unlimited NIL. College teams have to be constructed under a budget like any pro franchise now. ROI matters.
Rick Barnes literally just said Lanier wasn’t doing what he was getting paid for.
And yes if you were spending your own money to fund my salary (or in this case donating to a collective) I wouldn’t hold it against you.

Stew and Mahaney had 9 of those turns. We desperately need a 2nd ball handler, never thought it could be Ross.
I still don’t. I get what Danny is doing with respect to Ross. He does have great athletic skills but I still don’t see this great defender and having him bring the ball in bounds on any oob makes me cringe. He is getting better I think as he plays more.

The recent choices are few for the coaches, not many. The Milwaukee win will move us up several notches. Ross earned his time and was an important factor. His offense will likely improve.

Right. That's why it is called "earned income"

What I don’t understand sometimes is, who is being offended? Is it assumed players or players parents are coming on the Boneyard and become offended?

Nothing we didn’t already know, but watched the highlights and the crowd was going crazy before virtually all of Solo’s second half threes:

1st one - stopped a 6-0 run that cut it to 9
2nd one - after a TV timeout, answered a Ross 3 that cut it to 11
3rd one - stopped a 6-0 run that cut it to 9
4th one - stopped a quick 4-0 Kam Jones run that cut it to 7
5th one - answered a Joplin 3 that cut it to 6

I put in another thread (about Hawkins and the SDSU shot, actually) that sometimes the “clutch” shots come early to stop the other team’s runs in their tracks before they swing the game. There were multiple clutch shots from Solo yesterday in an 8-point win, even though maybe only the last one would resonate with people as a “dagger” - but when the game felt like it could be slipping, he stopped the slip.
I loves seeing reaction from the Marquette fans after every one of those 2nd half 3's from Ball. You could see (and hear) the wind get sucked out of them every time. Especially the last couple. :D

I'm sure this was tons of Marquette fans watching at home after the last 3 from Ball:

It is a known fact that players and their parents read the Boneyard

Liken our future PG situation to FB QB situation. We might be ok, but whether its the recruited HS athletes, or a portal PG, expect there to be a real competition at the 1 next year. I think you'll see many questions answered between now and April 7th.

With PG being such an important role and one of a leader. I would prefer us to have a good plan for who should run our team and lead us.

I wouldn’t want competition/indecision at that position. Really would like players to feel comfortable knowing what their roles are and how to prepare for them over the offseason.

But if we end up going to the portal I guess we don’t have a choice because the guy will have to prove he deserves the role anyways? Lol

Think TNewt 2023.

The kid out of Yale would have been one to look at if not a senior. Ivy League DPOY, shooting 40% from three and 5.5 assists per game, at 6'4".

The kid Stirtze out of Drake will be a hot commodity if he goes portal.

Yeah it took him until the middle of the year to find his footing.

He went from averaging 17 5 and 5 being AAC All-Conference to 10 5 and 4.5.

Anybody we bring up (Cam played in the Big Ten) will go through an adjustment period. If possible, I would love for us to have continuity. Unless there’s a guy from a big conference that’s transferring and fits.
