Marquette Haiku | The Boneyard

Marquette Haiku

.-.
I must write Haiku
To keep winning mojo live
Line 3 has 5, Yes!

Finish season strong
Chewing gum and reaching goals
Big East Champs times 2

Enjoy this Roster
One of the best ever in
Husky white flag blue

marquette throws briquettes
March is when UConn makes runs
Huskies pull the sled

.-.
The boys on the road
Face a well-coached Marquette squad
Without their leader

Do the dirty work
Defend, rebound, hit your shots
And protect the ball

Often teams step up
When playing without a star
As the Celts found out

Its Koleks haiku
Good recovery
In haiku number seven
(Above, swap in "Dub")

In Algonquin it
Was pronounc'd "Miel-ei-wau-kay"
Marquette is not worthy!
Why "pronoun'd" instead
of "pronounced?" Same question re
"follow'd" & "followed."

Regarding Marquette:
Respect and meet the moment
and the opponent

Fine-tune nine-man depth
Connect, correct, play hard, keep
growing, and have fun.

.-.
One of my haikus
Was deleted, not sure why
Not out to offend

I apologize
If some bounds were overstepped
In bid for humor

In complete candor
There were some other haikus that
Seemed more offensive

On to tonight's game
Us? We'll be road warriors
Them? Fake warriors

Coach Al McGuire
Not a coach was more spryer.
And those uneys? Fire!
