Marquette Haiku | The Boneyard

Marquette Haiku

.-.
.-.
When I was just a
Baby, my mom used to do
This thing with my toes

She'd pinch my big toe
And say, "This little piggy
Went to Marquette." Then

On the next toe she'd
Say, "This little piggy stayed
Home". And then she said

"Because good piggies
Stay in Connecticut, so
If you even think

About applying
To Marquette, I'll cut your F
Ing big toe right off!"

Marquette will be tough
The game will be very close
There will be ebbs-flows

We will find a way
Go on a few of our runs
Which will win the game

.-.
Once more, into the
Breach, ride the UConn Huskes
Close-knit starting 5

A challenge awaits
They will be soundly dispatched
Home, tails tucked under

It's who we are.
Be glad you got us last year;
This league is ours now.

Waiting for the game.
20 minutes feels just like
2 hours!!
Missing syllables?
Did they get profanity
filtration treatment?

Before 3 pm
Can you creatively write
a new one that works?

Who'd ever have thought
that "gosh darn" wouldn't have worked?
Maybe something else?

.-.
Is this how it feels
When you face a great challenge
Nerves and Butterfly’s

Amazing how easy
That victory was complete
How high can we fly?
