The Vols are full of super stars who have to get to know each other? Have Ms. Turnover DD handle the ball more? She's lost it!

"Notre Dame? Indiana?"

Yeah, don't I know it.
'Bout 3 miles down the road from me.
Pretty sure the LV won't win, but I will pull for them in this one.

I just now read the funniest message on the Lady Vol board. Pessimistic UT fans think their chances tomorrow vs. Notre Dame are pretty slim. To wit, this post:

"The only way Tenn could make ND nervous is if they put on UCONN uniforms and holly wears a GENO mask." Hahahaha.

Waiting for the post-game presser

I bet she says: if they would have played the whole game like they did the last 5 minutes, they would have won by 20.

Just curious - I thought people were linking the Margo videos because there's sort of a Margo Fan Club, you know, those bemused by a fan with tonyc-like optimism. However, comments in this thread make me wonder. If folks are linking Margo just to mock her, then I think we need to reconsider posting the videos.

Nan, I love Margo: her passion, her realness, her down home ways; and I'm sure many Boneyarders do too. One of the big problems with a forum like this is some posters will say things online that they would never say in person. So I try to ignore the haters and still get my UConn and Women's basketball fix. It is not easy some days.

PS. I hope you get paid to be a moderator; it seems like a thankless job sometimes. Just want you to know I am grateful for the work you and the other moderators do (even when you delete my posts, I can see why).

Margo is real, speaks the truth overall (her feelings and opinion)... she has faith in her team in these tough times, as she should.
She enjoys making the videos (and post them on YouTube) so I'm sure she wants people to view them.
Who has the ba*** to do what she's doing?
The "wins"videos are posted just as the losses so I'm not sure if someone is mocking her.
I didn't like the comment someone said about the item on her head.
Being in one stable location would be nice as well but we can't make Margo do that. I'm not sure if she reads the Boneyard, Summitt or VolNation but if she does... the comments don't seem to bother her.
(edit) delusional isn't nice as well, especially if you posted the video... that could appear to be mocking

Chemistry. Margo rants a lot about it, and she may be right. What I don't understand, is how DD might not have good chemistry with the team after spending a year with the team before being eligible?

Also, her quote "these girls know how to play basketball, they were McD AAs", makes me wonder again about the rankings, and even more so, do the AAs really know how to play basketball, or are their skills enhanced by being the best on their HS team, when in reality, deficiencies are hidden? That might be the most impressive part of recruiting by Geno & staff. They look for the things that will help the program, look for BB IQ, and for those that understand how to play within a team concept.

a fan with tonyc-like optimism. .
Great analogy...how can you not admire Margo's passion for her team. Great, great, LV fan. She obviously understands the game and has her opinions. Easy to mock by opposing fans but Nan is right. Better to take the high road.

Not sure why anyone has a problem with Margo. I usually don't watch her videos (no interest) but the couple of times that I have watched she comes across as an enthusiastic and optimistic dedicated fan. She is wrong about this though . . . .

" . . .these girls know how to play basketball, they were McD AAs"

They might know how to play High School basketball but I haven't seen much to indicate that they have progressed to the next level. That can be put on the coaches. How can an assistant coach that played and coached (12 years?)for Stringer possibly teach UTenn players anything about offense.

Most coaches lament how little current recruits do know about playing basketball - In Pat's prime, AAU was an after thought and kids practiced and played with their HS teams a lot, and the AAU teams were more local, spent more time together with shorter and less frequent travel so they actually got practice time together, not just game time. There were more basketball camps that filled time now devoted to the AAU machine and fewer individual trainers who may improve individual skills but cannot work team skills. - So the teaching and training aspect of college coaches is paramount - if you cannot develop the skilled players into skilled team players during practice at the college level your team will have 'chemistry' issues on the court regardless of the type of players you have on the team. And if you can't teach and train and you have signed selfish players it can be a disaster.

The Margo videos will continue as people truly seem to enjoy them. I'll just prune out any comments that go too far for good taste. I don't think Boneyarders want to be one of those boards that's nasty towards all things not "our team".

Carry on, folks!
