It's the month where legends are made, let's keep an eye on our old friends as they go through their respective conference tournaments and March Madness

Unfortunate news to start with Rahsool Diggins, whose UMass Minutemen ended the season 15-16 by losing to Richmond, 71-38 in the first round of the A10 tournament. They started 8-1 including winning the Myrtle Beach Invitational, but lost 8 of their last 10 to end the season

Rahsool played 13 minutes and had 2 points, 2 assists, 2 turnovers, 3 fouls. Finished the year averaging around 5 points, 2 assists, shooting 34% FG, 30% 3P, 36% FT. Not sure what the backcourt talent looks like over in MA, but hopefully he can improve this offseason and come back for a strong junior year

Positive note, BAdams was most improved player this year
Adams may have played himself into making some overseas $$. He had a great year: averaged 17.5 ppg shooting 38% from 3. Along w/ most improved, he was All-Conference 3rd team, and All-Academic. Graduated from UConn in 3 years with an Econ degree and got his MBA from GW with a 3.65 GPA. Made the most of his time in college as a player and student. Quite a career.

Nothing against this kid, but there may not be a more misjudged player in recent Boneyard history. So many people were so sure Hurley dropped the ball by not playing him more early in the year, when in retrospect it looks like he was just unplayable. Then the meltdown over his transfer. Hard to believe all that was for this.

Add to that the consensus conclusion that “he had to be better than Jalen Gaffney,” and then look at the season Gaffney helped contribute to. Just like his freshman year here where he went into the starting lineup and without him individually playing great, the team got better,.

.-.
George Mason's season ended yesterday, and so does Brendan Adams' collegiate career. Rough game against St Joe's with 5-14 shooting but an otherwise GREAT year for Brendan. 17.4 PPG shooting 47% FG and 37.9% 3P. It may not be the NBA, but he played himself into a professional opportunity this season

Georgetown's season also ended yesterday with a first round BET loss. Akok didn't play, I'm still not sure why. Finishes the year averaging 6.5 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 2.0 BPG shooting 45.5% FG and 28.2% 3P. He'll have a decision to make, he does have an option to come back for his fifth year under a new coach in DC

There we go! Between Jarlton last year and Badams this year, very happy to see our former players succeed and show what they got. Badams was clearly a super hard worker so he 100% deserved it.

Damn, he's so smart, he went to TWO colleges at the same time!!

Jalen Gaffney and FAU play in the semis in an hour on CBSSN. Not many interesting games on until later in the afternoon but that one should be solid. They should be in regardless but a win today should seal their at large chances with whoever they'd play in the championship game

Corey Floyd ended the year averaging 2.6PTS/1.2REB/.4 AST on 44/42/92 splits in 10 mins a game. Feel he may have a bigger role next year at PC.

Javonte Brown averaged 1.7 PTS/1.7REB in 3MPG. Feels he may not even be D1 after this year. Surprising as the highest FG% ever by a Husky played only 20 minutes this whole season

George Washington's, not George Mason's.

Floyd played well yesterday. Very well might be a good Big East level player by the time he's done, which I wouldn't have said before yesterday.

Yeah their fans were calling for more Floyd and less Bynum by the end of the year.

He's a moderately athletic seven footer. He'll easily be a D1 player, but doesn't appear to be P5 caliber.

Choose one.

Hurley dropped the ball badly recruiting him

Hurley dropped the ball by not developing him.

It’s one or the other. Neither is a good case.

Yeah, no. No one dropped the ball badly recruiting him, recruiting was limited at the time and we were far from alone in our interest. He got here and wasn't good enough. It happens.
But be sure to stick with your "Hurley is bad" thing no matter what

Um Hurley is bad?

Will continue to follow Badamas! I’ve seen three UConn players overseas over the years and it never gets old

Hurley wasn't the only one who misjudged him. I never saw it but a lot of better recruiting analysts than me loved him in high school. Hurley has not been good at recruiting freshmen PG's so far, really his only recruiting weakness so far (transfers have all been solid and he has developed freshmen talent at every other position).

Castle should break that flaw in Hurley's recruiting and I also think highly of Ball down the road.

Tyrese had a monster game yesterday with 46 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 made threes. Definitely one of my favorites of all time. Lunch pale kind of player who really understands how he got to where he is from where he came from.

Gaffney had 2 points on 4 shots, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 turnovers in 20 minutes in FAU's win against Memphis.

Seriously? A coach dropped the ball badly by recruiting a player who turned out not to be good enough? You’re seriously implying that 100% of players recruited by a good coach should ultimately work out? By that logic Jim Calhoun sucked.

Yeah yeah
Simply it’s one of the two

Nothing wrong with noting that Hurley has struggled to recruit the point guard position. Diggins and Gaffney are both borderline division one players.

If you don’t count transfers. But in todays era I have no idea why the standard for recruiting players would only be freshmen?
