March Madness, 2nd round - Saturday

I remember back in 1985 (I’m an old guy!) that the Big East had three of the four Final Four participants. Not sure if it’s happened since then. Thoughts about any of the current P4 conferences being able to replicate that?

It should've been 4 teams since BC was ripped off.

The BE came close to doing that again. 2009 Final 8 had 4 Big East teams. Only 2 advanced. Louisville lost to Michigan St. And Villanova faced Pittsburgh in the other bracket.

Michigan State was not the champ that year (2009), North Carolina was. MSU beat us in the semis. North Carolina beat Villanova.

No one from the Big Ten has won the National Championship since those same Spartans did it in 2000.

I remember it well as we were setting up for an all-time epic final with UNC if Jerome Dyson had not gotten hurt in a mid February game vs. Syracuse. We would have handled MSU in that semi-final with Dyson, even with the game in Detroit and the crowd decidedly pro-Spartan.

Yep. Brainfart

Lets go TCU!!! The line just moved a point, is Ngongba playing? Duke looked uninterested against Sienna, I hope they turn out flat again today. TCU won an even challenge against a decent OSU.

St. Louis looked surprisingly awesome against Georgia, but Michigan is an entirely different animal. Mich was late to pull away from Howard.

Louisville gave up a solid lead without Mikel Brown, and MSU stomped a cupcake.

Billikens, baby!!!!

Great ball so far.

It feels like Michigan is going to blow this open soon, but I hope I’m wrong…if St. Louis can string some stops together they’ve got a shot!

How did Michigan lose games? The only thing I can think of is that St. Louis defense is suspect.

No reason to be pressed up on Lendeborg that far from the hoop, just gave them an easy 2 points before the half

Michigan is the team to beat in this tournament, they are legit. Cadeau is kind of a chucker and sometimes takes some very dumb shots, so that could be an issue later in the tournament. Marra and Lendeborg are elite
