It's official Dayton defeats St. Louis 70-69. A-10 will get at least 2 teams in the NCAAT. I don't know if the A-10 had any other teams that had a shot at a NCAAT birth besides St. Louis.

Emeka Okafor is the studio analyst for CBS Sports Network.

St Louis, Miami OH, and Santa Clara should still be a lock, hope some average sec or big 10 18-13 type don't steal one of their rightfully earned bids.

How come no one is talking about Tulsa? I feel like a few years ago a 26-6 (13-5) AAC team was a shoo-in for a bid. If they lose in the finals to USF, would they just be SOL?

Yes, The American isn't nearly as good anymore. The league has been much worse even since SMU left. It didn't help that Memphis had by far its worst season under Penny this year.

They have 2 NET top 50 teams (49 USF, 50 Tulsa) 1 more in the top 100 (81 WSU) and 4 teams between 208-342. Tulsa was only 3-4 against Quads 1+2 and had 2 losses in Q3. They had a solid season but their resume just isn't tournament worthy

Don’t wanna be that guy but…Dayton probably should’ve gotten called for a tech at the end there. Had SLU inbounded immediately the officials would’ve had to have made that call.

I don't know Tulsa's specific metrics like WAB and the Q1 and Q2 wins, but I would rather they get in vs. some half-ass mediocre power conference team with an under 0.500 conference record that lost in the semifinals or quarterfinals in their conference tournament.

Luckily St. Louis didn't inbound the ball. That player that ran off the bench for Dayton would have been mercilessly skewered in this day of social media. Remember when Michael Jordan smacked Malik Monk upside the head for doing that after Jeremy Lamb hit that clutch shot before the buzzer?

You know these analysts are all Power 4 when they utter this stuff about Florida still deserving a 1 seed.

If you want to completely make November and December irrelevant for college ball, then make Florida a 1 seed.

Because if UConn wins tonight, their record, the WAB metric, & head to head, should give them the 1 seed.

Otherwise, scheduling marquee games out of conference can only hurt UConn, it can't help them.

You schedule Texas, BYU, Arizona, Illinois, Florida and Kansas only for an analyst to say, "It's not an impressive body of work."

We get to see some 18-14 or 19-15 power team stumble in the 11/11 Tues/Wed game instead.

FL losing by 25 to Vandy should give us the 1 seed, tbh.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I recall multiple studio analysts saying that the committee won't be paying much attention to the conference tourneys as it regards the top seeds. So I'm not confident that even winning tonight gets us back on the 1 line.

I thought about this - but when it's this close, with Florida losing today (not tomorrow), I'd have to think it moves things. I'm sure they build in "if" statements around in their brackets as they build them out. At this point, they'll have 98% of it done.

Flipped on the AAC semis and there is nobody there. And, the tournament is in Birmingham, Alabama. We need to thank everyone who helped get UConn out of the AAC!
When UConn was in it I don't remember it being very well attended either. I remember empty arenas in Orlando and Fort Worth. Didn't feel important with no support.

Always trips me out watching UCLA and seeing the size of Skyy Clark's uniform, looks like they forgot to pack and he's wearing a PF's oversized uni
