March General CBB Discussion Thread

Purdue has done a ton of losing in the last month - not so sure about that. MSU beat them at Mackey - I think it's MSU's unless Purdue wins here.
Compare their resumes and they're very close, including MSU's win in their one head-to-head. It's going to be a really interesting decision for the Committee IF Purdue loses. If they win they're obviously booked for that fourth #2.

For S&Gs, I decided to check out Andy Katz's current bracket, posted on NCAA. com. He's got us as a two seed, playing in Philly on Friday against... Siena. Delicious little subplot of GMac vs the Huskies. You know everyone on SyracuseFan would be frothing at the mouth for an upset.

Still a lot of time, Michigan has comeback from these deficits all year, Purdue can't go into a draught here.

Looks like Purdue has flipped a switch, this is the team that's been MIA the past 6 weeks. Kaufman-Renn destroying this Mich frontcourt
They’ve been playing small and moving TKR to the 5 (which he’s better at) and bringing Cluff in as the change of pace center. It’s been working.

Michigan’s lack of good guard play on full display here too.

Haven’t TKR and Cluff been on the floor together the entire second half? I think that’s why they are matching up so well with UM’s frontcourt. Cluff has the size to match up with Mara and TKR has the size and athleticism to match up with Morez. He’s more skilled too. Agree about UMs G play or lack thereof. Severely outclassed by Smith.

They’ve been playing mainly platoon style center. They haven’t really played like this all year either.

Arkansas is a team I would not want UConn to see in the NCAA Tournament. They have high level athletic players all over the roster. Their best players are relatively young and there's the Calipari factor, but keep them far away from the Huskies.
The earliest we could see them would be in an Elite 8 game, so I think I would take that matchup over playing Arizona/Duke/Michigan/Florida

Really hoping for 2 seed in the east. Duke can be upset down 2 starters and UF’s backcourt is not championship quality. On the other side of the bracket Zona and UM will have to battle it out. UConn v Zona for the CHIP.

I know a lot of people dislike Purdue fans but I don’t mind them as a team. They’re also way overdue to win it all

Nice win by Purdue.

Conference championships should not really be held on selection sundays though.

Have to ask yourself, like AK, 4 years of playing at the college level, do they need the juice of the one game playoff to get excited?

Got it. Our players were throwing the ball out of bounds, missing layups, and getting the ball stuffed in their faces because they were "sped up" and not physically intimidated. Potato-potatoe...
It’s semantics, but I don’t think our guys were intimidated either. We just make bad decisions. I’d agree if we didn’t make these same baf decisions against Creighton.

Rooting Priorities:
1) UConn win it all, duh that's obvious
If UConn cannot win it then . ...
2) Other blue bloods not winning it which are Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Kansas. Also I don't want Florida winning it all.

I love your optimism, I do, but it just comes off kinda polyana a x.

I think Purdue beating UM now makes the 2 in the East much more likely. Purdue with a UM win is a much stronger #2 than MSU which would have clearly been the fourth #2.
