I wasn't going to drop this here initially but the damn CR Board has become the wild west with the number of visitors and "media/basement expert" tweets/blogs/claims of the importance that fertile recruiting grounds play in the CR social media circle jerk:

The northeast is way more heavily recruited that it gets credit for. No it's not Florida, but the way people talk we might as well be North Dakota.

It's also is useful to look at the average distance many schools have extend out to get recruits. A large part of the recruiting process is getting kids on campus for unofficial visits & that's difficult if you factor in a 8 or so hour drive. This map also shows a dramatic drop off in recruiting activity once you get past Philly
