Our perimeter have not stepped up.
Our offense is to predictable since conference play

Shake up the line up a bit. You can see we can still be awesome. But we have to change some things
And again it isn’t Adams’s fault clingan get block shots. We should be prepared to play double big

It isn’t fair to blame 1 person. Sanogos defensive regression is something that needs to be figured out though.

Yes. Our bench out-performed the starters tonight. That 14-0 run was without most of the starters. Everyone will not be on every night. In my opinion, Clingan should have started the second half. Yet Dan Hurley starts Adama and goes to him right away. Makes me think Dan Hurley is blind sometimes. Adama owned Creighton...great. It was obvious from the jump that this wasn't going to be his night. Not his fault.

No need to overcomplicate things. We need a real point guard.
That's why Diarra got so much run tonight. He's a D first, pass 2nd, score 3rd PG. And it worked. We don't have a real PG...you're right. Newton can handle the ball and score, but he's not a drive/draw/dish guy who is a monster on defense.

He's not living up to the hype, with all the preseason accolades comes the pressure to perform and he just isn't performing near the level to warrant those accolades. This is the 5th time he's been outplayed in the 7 Big East games and he's basically a sieve on defense.

Obviously some other players have also been disappointing but they weren't supposed to be all-Americans. He was unplayable tonight.

You want to play doubke bigs and bench Karaban, who seems to be the only guy from the perimeter who can hit a shot?

Sanogo was brutal defensively today, but it wasn’t all him as the team couldn’t guard a chair in the second half. The issue is guard play, offensively and defensively.

We need more than a point guard but we sure need a point guard. Those were good teams we beat early on but we’ve been figured out and we’re not the same shooters against these defenses in the BE. Overall we’re better than last year but maybe we’re not the huge jump forward we thought we might be early on. It’s hard to enjoy when your expectations were elevated to sky high and then reduced but we‘re still on the right path and Dan Hurley has flaws too but he’s also improving.
That and some posters are just ass-jacks in other threads. Such entitled f tarDS. Like a NC is something you sign up for.

That isn’t gonna happen this year. Stuck with this roster, which is very good.

Newton has to play better. That, or move Jackson to the one and have a tight leash when he tries to get cute. Someone has to control the tempo and pace and try and play basketball.

Offensively, they look like robots out there. Go to the basket and make a play.

The fact that he was unplayable was obvious from the get-go. The fact that Dan Hurley went right to him to start the second half was ridiculous. As soon as I saw that I questioned our coaching and our ability to win tonight.

No, bench Newton. AK at the 3 & Ajax point

Unfortunately I don’t think the solution to this teams issues is on the roster. We have 5 guards who can’t isolate a defender and get by them, and our transfer PG is playing like a nervous freshman.

The staff DESPERATELY needs to get a transfer PG who can make others better and get in the lane this offseason. The weaknesses are glaring.

Need a fast, shifty guard that is an elite ball handler to compliment Castle.

Ok. Im not blaming Adama. But after what he did to Kalkbrenner, to go 10 and 3 with 5 turnovers against these Marquette bigs really bugs me.

Soriano from St Johns is pretty good, but he torched these guys with 22-13. This is not a tough matchup for bigs… at all.

He seems to not carry the same focus on the road and he just all in all has been inconsistent.

Adama and Clingan should be playing off each other. Adama comes and outworks you then he rests while Clingan comes in and bully’s you.

This dynamic hasn’t worked as it should since the Florida game and eye test is the motor isn’t there as much as it should be.

Diarra can’t shoot, at all, with him and Jackson on the court together the other team can play 5 on 3 defense.
Joey has been in an awful shooting slump. And is a poor defender. If he isn’t hitting 3s he doesn’t affect the game positively. Diarra can at least draw some fouls and plays good defense.

I counted 7 straight possessions where AS touched the ball and it was either a turnover or bad shot against multiple defenders. This absolutely killed us as in this stretch we fell behind, went on a run without him then he came back in and the lead disappeared.

We all saw it clear as day. He was 26 points last game and the scheme was to double and triple him and blanket Hawkins who had no good looks the entire game. Credit Shaka on that, he knows who can hurt him. Unfortunately we had no guard step up and Clingan was literally carrying the team on his back on his 21 minutes last night. I know he gets gassed but I want him out there for 30+ in important must win games down the road. Hurley can rest him in less important games.
