Didn't know either father or daughter, but if some of what I read is accurate, we lost a couple of needed WBB building blocks and fine human beings.

A great deal of love between these two. Kobe's life in retirement from playing took on a new focus and identity as he strove to support Gigi in her dreams of writing her own story, first step being a Husky. She had her dad's drive, love of the game and his fall away jump shot - and the hearts of those who saw her play. This is a beautiful shot of them, a joyful Gigi and her devoted dad.

I hope she will be given some recognition on UConn's wall of greats when her high school class gets ready to enter college. And wouldn't it be nice if the team honored its outstanding freshman player each year with an award in her name.
