Richard Barron has really done a nice job turning around one of New England's best mid-major women's programs in the 90s/early 2000s. Maine beat Stony Brook today to go to 19-6, tied with Albany at 11-1 in America East. Attendance was listed at 3,454 but was probably a bit less than that after the "blizzard" scare. That's 3K+ for their last 2 home games......no one in NE comes close other than UConn (obviously).

Regarding Barron, there is already talk of someone scooping him up. He has one more year on his contract with 8 juniors coming back next season, I doubt that he leaves after this one unless he gets the offer of a lifetime. Any thoughts on Barron or Maine's resurgence?

Here is a pic from their last home game vs. Hartford:

I doubt that you will find a women's collegiate basketball atmosphere like that anywhere North of Storrs.

U. of Maine has produced some good coaches that have moved on to bigger programs, specifiaclly Sharon Versyp (Indiana, Purdue) and Joanne P. McCallie (Michigan State, Duke).
