2021 Recruiting: Mac Ettienne

Hurley and Company in today to watch him at the PSA showcase after an in home in October. All indications are that he’s a primary 21 target maybe the primary 21 target. Kid has improved a lot. He’s grown an inch since last year, added some weight and a little bit of a mid range game. He’s also MUCH more active now. Putting up huge rebounding numbers every game he plays had 17 rebounds last game, 13 today.

He and his parents looks pretty comfy at Gampel when they had the open practice. He was talking to most of the players then he and his family left on a tour with Coach Sal

Another note on this game today. Blakes, a composite 4 star himself, dropped 31 in front of Hurley and Kimani. Dropped 27 yesterday. Is currently averaging 28 ppg on a really good Blair team, even without JAR. St John’s immediately offered after the game. I’m expecting us to offer as well. He plays the kind of perimeter defense Hurley demands, like easily the best defender every time he steps on the court, and is a lights out 3 point shooter.

Another kid who I've enjoyed watching this year in games, not huge stats yet bit like Josh B too is Brandon Johns from Michigan. A nose for the ball, especially offensive rebounding which is huge. Same as Josh, tip ins and keeping it alive. We don't have active people on the offensive boards now at all, many times not a UConn jersey in sight it sucks to watch. Need more guys like this I am all in.

still early but our interest in etienne and several other centers in 2021 leads me to believe Springs will be playing more PF than C. especially since julian reese and gak maybe the only PFs we've offered for 2021 when akok might be gone
