Every year I do a little bit of celebrating whenever the last school (other than UConn) with a chance for the dual championships gets knocked out of one of the brackets. It's one of my favorite things in all of sports that UConn is the only school to pull off that feat. And twice, no less! Not to be intentionally mean or selfish or anything, but I hope no one else ever does it.

"Bablor"... that was a typo but kind of fitting for ETT lol

Should we start calling you 'Mercury'?! :)
(As in Morris of 72 Dolphin fame.)

I was rooting as hard for Yale as for UConnMBB!!!! Great Ws for both teams!!!
I agree - I love seeing Ivies being competitive with athletic 'mills' - and I have a soft spot for Stanford which while giving athletic scholarships also seems to maintain their academic standards pretty rigorously. Duke and ND I think (not sure fairly) have let that aspect slide, and UNC tarnished their reputation completely. PSU I always thought was a bit of PR mumbo jumbo.

It is not unlike the support given to the cinderellas in the men's tournament or the Ball States of the women's bracket. (They took down Iowa - one of Charlie's favorites for a bubble team - in the WNIT first round on Iowa's home court, by the way! :)) Go Green Bay!

11 left
Texas, WV, so dak st, Green Bay all out

Syracuse first school to put both teams in the second round.

UConn 2nd school to advance to the 2nd round.

ND, TAMU, MD, KY, Miami, Okla, Indiana, Hawaii, MTSU still in contention

.-.
Oklahoma & Maryland are teams #3 & 4
Kentucky also got both teams through, but the men lost in rnd 2, so they are out

ND, TAMU, Indiana still in contention

Miami, Hawaii, MTSU out

UConn men getting destroyed right now. Oh well. Dual champs part 3 was not meant to be, at least not this year. It's 42-19, basically the same score we had against Louisville in the '13 title game with about 2 left in the 1st half.

It is not looking good for the men - preforming only a little better than RMU.

Wonder how many OREBs we've gotten. Seems like on every miss there are 3 or 4 KU bodies under the hoop ready to corral the rebound while we are standing around watching.

8 schools got both teams into the 2nd round

KY & Uconn men have lost
That leaves ND, TAMU, Syracuse, Indiana, Maryland, Oklahoma

.-.
Believe it or not, Syracuse is the leader -- first school with both teams in the sweet 16.
ND, TAMU, Indiana, Maryland, Oklahoma still alive

The Cuse women play South Carolina next, so the chances of dual are pretty darn slim at this point.

This may somewhat off topic but one big difference in the M & W NCAAs is my bracket so far is about 90% wrong for the men and about 90% right for the women.

Syracuse & ND look to be the only 2 to make the sweet 16.
TAMU, Maryland, Oklahoma all in big trouble

aTm and MD out. Who predicted THAT? aTm I could see - SEC was somewhat over rated this year, but Maryland? They gave UCONN a better test than any other team this year. Whoulda thunk it??!!

Never in a million years. There were howls of derision when the Syracuse men made the tournament. The women might have considered the season successful had they merely advanced to their seeding. But da boat a dem?:) (to paraphrase a young man from Louisiana Cajun country with whom I went through basic training) WOW!

congrats to Coach Q

some are saying the Orangemen shouldnt be in the tourney at all, so kudos to them for taking advantage of the opportunity

Will Boeheim be the first to receive a suspension and a trophy in the same season? That other program with equally great institutional control will likely prevent that from happening.

UConnHuskies twitter account had great response to ESPN:

Men's Final Four Women's Final Four Syracuse, NY has officially taken over as the capital of college basketball.
