We also won a championship from the East Regional.

This would be a terrific path.

That said, with who's projected to leave, I have a hard time seeing us in #2 seed range. The defending champ (or runner-up, see UNC last year) is almost always overrated, but having the buzz around the program is nice even if the results are unlikely to match.
This right here. Our Fab 5 provides a big jolt of optimism for good reason as well as the continued development of the returning players. But UConn loses a lot from this year's team and I do mean a lot.

They lose Sanogo who was arguably the best player in the nation last year. I don't give a damn that he wasn't on any of the three the All American teams, that was a mistake and he should have been at least 3rd team All American. They lose the best shooter in the country in Hawkins and the best glue guy in Jackson and not to mention significant contributors in Alleyne and Calcaterra.

Right now, Duke's coach has to show he can make it to the 2nd weekend.

You are correct on all points but we still have quality, experience and a big class. Now we need a shooter. And getting Tristen was huge, but I’m not going to focus on whether we are top 5, 10 or even 20 because Hurley and staff have serious talent to work magic on by next March. But Sanogo was ridiculously good whatever his draft status is. Look what he did to his opponents in that run particularly Gonzaga. Other players were heralded yet it was Adama that prevailed. I’m praying he taught Clingan his footwork before he left.
