Rutgers doesn’t affect me at all emotionally compared to BC and Miami. All remnants of the move to the ACC and I choose not to move off that position. But I have nothing against Luke.

I wish Luke great success, so much success that he breaks their hearts by going to a better program because he becomes such a hot commodity.

Actually, I wouldn't be all that surprised if a former UConn guy ended up in the Nardi role. Putting Nardi there was a smart stopgap measure for the inevitable loss of an assistant. If there was a quality Connecticut guy, I could see Dan giving him a hard look. But I absolutely agree, the bottom line is getting in good candidates.

Playing and coaching are entirely different skillsets. Hurley was not a very good player. Luke didn't even play college basketball. I don't think Tom did either.

Worst case is Tom Moore. Not a bad place to be. Maybe Taliek comes home? But I feel Dan has some strong recruiting ties.

I think Bobby has specifically said he wouldn't. He doesn't want it, I don't think Danny wants it, and we definitely don't want it. They are perfectly capable of finding a great assistant out there without having to do this.

Seriously. Duke has Iconic championship teams. UConn has lucky performances. The Laettner/Hurley Duke teams destroy any and all UConn teams and it’s not up for debate. The number of championships doesn’t really matter. It’s the quality of the teams that matters. Duke beats us in quality performances and Iconic teams.

Luke to BC is a mistake of the highest order. No interest, low on food chain of importance in Boston. Recruiting will be a terror. Who wants to go to BC, and play to a few thousand fans, and finish in bottom half of the ACC? He's going to need at least 3 years, and a whole lot of NIL money to raise the bar of interest at BC, and by then he'll be heading out of Boston.
 
He’ll bring fans into the arena and his dad will help him do it. He’s likely going to have some degree of success. He’s a good recruiter and a great strategist. He’s also the son of a big celebrity, which never hurts. I expect him to do pretty well. Maybe even better.

Pretty sure this is a bit he has committed to. He wanted Hurley fired at halftime of the Iona game in 2023 and we went on to win it all, so I think he's just doing it for the mojo at this point. JMO
