Whew…their start to the SEC schedule is brutal. Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Texas and Oklahoma in the first 3 weeks. They also have an undefeated Georgia team that won’t be a match for them offensively but will be all over them on defense. Their first five opponents have lost a total of 2 games. The SEC will.seperate contenders and pretenders in the blink of an eye this year.

Well said. That first leg of games for LSU is going to reveal a lot. After they play Alabama State, LSU starts conference play with four ranked teams and an undefeated Georgia team. I can't wait to see what develops with LSU.

I think best case scenario they escape 4-1, but wouldn't be shocked if they go 3-2 or 2-3. I'll eat my words if I'm wrong, but I think this LSU team looks stronger than the last couple teams they've had, as they've consistently dominated and played at a high level. Last year, 2023-2, and even in 2022-23 (when they won it all) they had some awful showings against mediocre teams and barely escaped.

Their back stretch is brutal too, facing South Carolina, @ Texas, @ Ole Miss and vs. Tennessee in a 6 game stretch. Then the SEC tournament. I think it'll be tough for them to escape the SEC without 3-4 losses entering the tournament.

Any SEC teams would have more of a pulse than LSU's non-conference opponents. LSU could open SEC play with the likes of Arkansas, A&M, Mizzou, Auburn, and Florida and it would still be "brutal" compared to who they've played so far 🤣

I won't be feeling sorry for Mulkey after all the double-cupcakes she scheduled in non-con play.

I really think LSU is the 6th best SEC team this year based on how they look. They have questionable very questionable Pg play (Jada doesn’t impress me) and have one of the worst post rotations in the conference. Mulkey has not recruited or developed any bigs outside of portaling in kids already developed in morrow and Angel (whose stock got much worse at LSU)

Their freshmen class for a number one class has not been good for some reason.

Zakiyah Johnson got suspended for a game recently

Oh I agree. I also agree they look better than they have in the past. It will be interesting to watch unfold.

They are a very talented team. I'm confident they'll be Top 3 in the SEC and seeded among the Top 10 nationally come bracket time.

So a few comments on this post-Texas and SC are clearly the top 2, then Oklahoma, LSU and Kentucky (this puts them 5th), where Vanderbilt fits in along with Ole Miss and Tennessee is a question that will play out. Despite Alabama and Georgia's 14-0 starts, they are still both bottom third teams.

Knox has been pretty good and Johnson has also earned playing time on a team littered with AA's. I would not expect Bourrage nor Hines to get any real time on a team already loaded with guards like Johnson, Williams, Fulwiley and Jada Richard, who all have already proven themselves. Your comment is akin to saying why isn't Kelish getting more time when the back court is loaded at UConn.

Not sure how or why Johnson getting suspended for a game is relevant unless she proves to be a major distraction which has not occurred- just seems like a spurious comment,

As far as developing "bigs", let me ask you about Vic Schaeffer at Texas-who has he developed? He got Taylor Jones from Oregon State, Oldacre from Miami and Breya Cunningham from Arizona? My point is you can't just toss aside the "portal" acquisitions. Is Kim a bit short on her front courts needs? Of course, as blatantly evident by the rebounding margin of 45-29 but also remember, Kenny Brooks brought Clara Strack with him from Virginia Tech and added Teoni Key from the portal.

I’m sorry but this is arguably the worst post group in Kim mulkey career
