Loved uconn El -Amin

Here's the last 18 seconds of that game.

Go figure Hooper, you'd have that clip. KEA didn't grab his shirt though. I think I confused that with Ricky grabbing his shirt after the defensive stop against Trajan Langdon at the end of the 99 NC game, which of course you'll likely dig that clip up. :)

I was there with one of my daughters after a 36 hour bus ride and buying tickets from a scalper for the very first time ever. One of my greatest memories right up there along with getting married and the births of my kids.

Loved’m when he got into it with all the Pitt fans, one of my top 5 UConn basketball memories.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. When he jumped on the scorers table and started pointing to the audience.... He had so much attitude. I loved that guy!

Those announcers were such clowns. Freeman made a conscious decision to grab the ball to keep Pitt on their back foot. I wonder what Vonteego Cummings did with his "Play of the Game" award?

El-Amin is one of my favortite Huskies of all time for two reasons. First, his game and attitude. Second, he's the only Husky that has a similar build to me ;)
I'll never forget reading the story about him when he signed with UConn and they said he was 5'10" and 220 lb.

I was there too. The Dookie section was chanting "We're Outstanding!" before the game started. One of my fondest memories ever was walking out of the Dome and watching those same fans with tears running down their faces. 'Outstanding' didn't last very long.
And during the game they bastardized the UCONN cheer by chanting U-S-U-C-K, usuck, usuck, usuck.

Outside, after the game, I asked a group of them "who sucks now"? No response. They probably went to the souvenir tents where there were carton after carton of Duke, National Champions, t-shirts. I couldn't find any for UConn..........

I was just thinking of that comment concerning Freeman and the turnover. Freeman saved precious time and UConn avoided having to take the ball out of bounds under pressure. Albert and KEA had the plays of the game.

I've told the story before, but Khalid was narrating like 20 years later and somebody said I know you won't tell us, but I'd love to know what you told the Pitt fans when you jumped up on the table. KEA says "oh I'll tell you exactly what I said it was. Eph you, eph you and eph you and eph your raggedy ass gym too!"

(The Pitt fans were talking some nasty stuff to him the whole game. Big mistake.)
