If I remember correctly, in 09 Calhoun left them in tact (or maybe it was the BET tourney net) based on the “we haven’t accomplished our goal yet” We fell short and he said in retrospect it was a mistake not cutting them down previously.

Does anyone else remember something like that? (or is all this only in my head)

A team should always cut down down the nets. Leaving them up because of "unfinished business" is the stupidest thing you can do. It takes the joy out of winning.

That 09 Final Four always counted and means a lot. Even more after Sticks died. Final Four banners count.
