I don't think Mark Knopfler has a great voice, but I sure love it with so much of his work - "Wild West End" is a great example IMO:

I was gonna post that if nobody did today.

I think of Dylan, Waits, and Knopfler as the triumverate od great singers with questionable voices.

This guy, this song. "I can still remember just the way you taste."

I can't believe it's down to the 38th post and no one has included him yet. So I get to do so.

One of my favorite songs. Performed by the only person who had any idea what it meant. Or so I think.

Stephen Stills - not the most beautiful voice by a long shot, but whatever he did it was golden:

My father HATED Michael Franks. Every time I put on an album he'd say "Is he supposed to be singing?"

I wouldn't classify Neil Young as having a terrible voice...I would instead say he has a unique voice....both pleasant to listen to and quite melodic complimented by being a very talented musician.

Since I love these guys I posted this in both thread. Male vocal not the female vocalist.

Neil Young and Geddy Lee definitely fall into that "love 'em or hate 'em" type of voice. ;)
