A Big East team getting hot at the right time. Sound familiar?

They suffocated Michigan State.

Congrats to the 'Ville - they get their payback for the '09 regional final loss to MSU.

If our surrogate team gets it done tonight we have an all-BE West Region final.

If anyone understands how to predict Louisville in the tourney, please share your wisdom. They kill me every year.

I have no real explanation for my dislike of Tom Izzo, but it's there. All the fawning, maybe.

Michigan St sucks as usual what else is new they are the overachieving Pittsburgh of the Big 10, the same mediocre players and ugly basketball. Im rooting for Louisville to win the entire thing and have adopted them as my surrogate team. Louisville has the talent, the athleticism, the defense and the shot making ability to win the whole thing. Louisville will knock out Kentucky if they see each other in the Final Four and it will be fun seeing the Squid lose once again.

Almost every team in the BE would gladly trade in their history in the past 10-15 years with Michigan State's.

I didn't realize Pitt won a National Championship and has been to 6 final 4's in the last 15 years:rolleyes:

Be fair MSU hasn't been to a Final Four in 2 whole years and hasn't been the NC game in 3. That's a long time. /sarcasm

Are you perpetually in a bad mood? I swear, I don't think you can string two sentences together without being critical of something. Try Xanax.

The fact that this MSU team got a #1 seed is a testament to Izzo's ability. It's not a very good team. But to say that MSU hasn't had good team is totally ignorant. I won't even bother going through the history but suffice it to say, it doesn't support your position.

So now that Marquette is gone, is the Ville our new favorite team? I do like Ohio State(and Thad Motta); and, I have to say I am very happy that Tom Crean is doing so well bringing Indiana back into the discussion. I think Indiana will will have a tough time getting past Kentucky. They beat them by a point in Bloomington back in December; but repeating that is not likely. The tough call for me with Louisville, is that Pitino has had some shoddy comments about us over the years(most recently in the weeks immediately following the Cuse and Pitt jumping ship and related to us possibly heading to the ACC). I would love to see the Big East(as long as it is not Syracuse) win the NC back to back; but I'm leaning toward putting my money on Ohio State.

GO HUSKIES!!! AND ANDRE MAKE IT ONE MORE YEAR(OR TWO)!!! :)

read carefully when i said the overachieving Pitt of the Big 10. They both play similar ugly basketball and have mediocre players with the only difference being that Izzo is a better tournament coach than Jamie Dixon and doesnt choke against teams he should beat.

P.S. I cant believe we lost to that awful Michigan St team in 2009 with the great team that we had. Thats a perfect example of Izzo being a great coach, which I never disputed by overachieving and managing to beat a superior UCONN team.

Problem was we didn't have a great "team"in '09.........tell me where the greatness was??

Michigan St threw a dud last night.........teams do it just wasn't good timing but happens.....not much coach or players can do when everyone is awful......they had a great year this year for a team that was only pretty good - he's a very good coach and there's no denying that........

Read the post above this one. I am in a great mood I just get passionate about things and express my sincere thoughts on a variety of issues. I never disputed Izzo as a coach, I am just saying I was not surprised at all to see Louisville handle them like they did because Louisville is just all around better than them.

Great in the sense that our whole lineup was better than their entire lineup. When you have a 7'3 Thabeet, AJ price, Jeff Adrien, Kemba Walker, Gavin Edwards, one of favorite huskies of all time(Stanley Robinson) there is no way this team should of lost to the chumps at Michigan St. These type of gritty ugly teams usually give UCONN trouble so its not like it was unexpected but still that shows that Izzo is a great coach to be able to make the finals in 2009 with that team.

Last night 13 writers - out of 13 - picked against us, lol.

I watched your run last season. As many recall, you became my personal surrogate team and i was a bit envious, naturally, but also completely thrilled when you won it. WINNING!! :)

I feel so strong today they ought to call me Ex Lax. If we survive Florida and get to play Kentucky, I think we beat them by 10. Calipari's freshmen have "broke" every season - we've played them once and Pitino would have a week to prepare. We also have not cared as a team about anything distracting whatsoever, such as smack talk, writer's comments and the rest. This is a supremely motivated and focused bunch right now. They love what they're doing.

Make no mistake - Defense CAN win championships and you proved it just a year ago. Sure, Kemba was your offense but we know what I'm talking about here.

It's a bit hard to call a team/program overachieving when they consistently accomplish said achievement. Izzo has been the coach for 17 years at MSU, he/MSU has 1 NC, 5 other Final Fours, another Elite 8, three Sweet Sixteens, and has made the NCAAT the past 15 years.

You cannot separate the players from the coach when discussing the program. If you want to rephrase it by saying the players overachieve under Izzo, that might be true, but the program itself does not "OVERACHIEVE."

I'd pick Louisville to root for, but that has worked out poorly for UConn, Mizzou, and Marquette.

Good luck.

I am soooo routing for Lville.
Why not?
(I am not going the Quse route- SCC team that had more problems in one year then we have had in ten. They may be banned from post season play for decades if they keep this up).

Was just gonna post something similar. Have no idea how people could not like Tom Izzo. He does things the right way and consistently achieves. Even when they are down, they still make the tourney and are a threat. That's not something that we have done over the last 15 years.
