At Villanova. Not a good loss if it happens.

If Napier doesn't take that nasty spill that might've been our scalp...

So it goes.

Good on nova, this is what big east basketball has been, every night a battle regardless of national ranking.

HUGE for syracuse

I spent a while trying to imagine a scenario where I would be willing to describe a game that didn't involve my team as 'huge', in capital letters, on a board that did not belong to either my own team or one of the two teams who actually played the game.

I did come up with one - when Gonzaga knocked out Stanford (the 2 in our bracket) in 1999, that was huge in capital letters, and I'd have put that on a UMass board to taunt them, since at the time they had been to the Final Four and we hadn't, and there was still actually a border rivalry (crazy to imagine that now), and their program was starting to wallow under Bruiser Flint while we were thriving, so they were rooting against us that team of ours with the passion of 1000 white hot suns, because they knew if we made the Final Four, they'd lose the only thing they could still hold against us as they continued on their downward path to obsolescence. A "HUGE for UConn" post would've stirred a hornet's nest of anger (of course, little would I have known that Gonzaga was probably better than Stanford, anyway).

But that was at least in March.

Seriously, the orange can go f themselves. Quit trying to turn every thread into one about the Cuse.

Well, when your legacy is that you kick ass in the regular season and choke in the post season, you will join a message board of champs out of jealousy.;)

HUGE for syracuse
Am I missing something? How is this huge for Syracuse?

Doesn't it take some of the shine off their win over Ville since Ville just got knocked off?

There must be something I'm missing.

Nope, just their illogical thinking.

I think the guy is actually referring to the Big East regular season title, which is a nice achievement, but not something to come on the message board of the three time champs bragging about. I bet they'll put that banner right next to the Elite Eight banner from last year in the Carrier Dome.

I'll be honest. I followed the regular season title race in the 90's. It did mean something to come out on top after the long haul, I'm not gonna lie.

But once they went to two divisions, I kinda ignored it. Even when they went back to one division, I didn't pay much attention since the schedules were imbalanced and the regular season title would often depend on which teams the league made you play twice. I frankly don't even know if we won the regular season title in 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2009. I know how all four of those tournaments went, though - and I won't repeat those results here, other than the two championship game wins over Pitt, of course.
