I will be flying in for the game on Feb 12. My flight leaves on Tuesday around 4:00.
I’ll be staying at a B&B near campus. Any suggestions on things I should see or do in my very short window of time on Tuesday? A restaurant I shouldn’t miss? ( flying in and out of Hartford). Thanks for any tips.

I've always like Maine Fish Market Restaurant in East Windsor. Really good food.

I’ll just tell everyone Justine’s guy sent me?? That will go over well, in my Louisville gear?

Good luck in the game. Let's hope for a clean, hard fought game. Should be excellent

Mark Twain's home in Hartford is a 'must see' if you either love anything Twain or cool old homes with great architecture

Gampel and the Co-op obviously. They are right next door to each other. You can take a look at the Werthe Basketball Center and the Burton and Shenkman (Football) buildings while you are there as as well. Be sure to rub Jonathan's nose outside of Gampel.

There is a sports museum in the Alumni building, that is worth a look but boring for the kids.

I'd head down Mirror and Swan Lake. I think Mirror lake has a swing there. It's a nice picture.

By the Dairy Bar you can check out the view by Horsebarn Hill and check out the horses, sheep and cows as well. I think milking is done in the afternoon.

There may be more now but at the corner of Eagleville Road and Storrs Road the UConn sign is a good picture.

The Student Union has good energy and is worth a walk through.

There's more but those are the things that come to mind.

Last I knew, Electric Blue was a strip club.

East Windsor and New Haven are long drives from campus. Try Willington Pizza -the loaded mashed potato pizza tastes far better than it sounds if you’re up for something new. Chucks Steakhouse is in nearby Mansfield and is in an atmospheric barn setting. Bidwell Tavern is a bar near campus that has, or had a few years ago, good food in a relaxed setting. I think you can eat at the Student Union near Gampel but am not 100% positive. Maybe check online.

You’ve gotta go to the UConn Dairy Bar. The Agricultural students make ice cream right there on campus and it’s soooooo good. If you don’t make it to the Dairy Bar, you can get some at the game. BTW, the variety of food at Gampel is limited. Eat before you go.

Oh, one more thing - I’d be shocked if anyone bothers you if you’re wearing your Louisville gear. No booze at Gampel helps.

I was gonna say....this poor person comes in from Louisville or wherever --obviously not New England, and you want to send him/her to East Windsor and then get from East Windsor to Storrs? On what? The Road From Nowhere to Nowhere? Honestly, navigating the eastern part of Connecticut can be a real challenge for a newbe, especially if you hit rush hour on Rte. 84 or it is dark and (God forbid) snowy on the secondary roads. Cut 'em some slack. I haven't been to Willington Pizza in over a decade, but it's a fine choice and will be crawling with WCBB fans. What could be better?

I was going to suggest the dairy/Ag School, but I haven't been to campus in 40 years, so didn't know if they still had the ice-cream shop. If it's still there, it's the best ice cream on the planet. Plus, if you're into animals, the barns are wonderful. I saw a sow give birth to about 8 piglets there once.

After reading Nan’s response, I see what you did there. Louisville fan. Strip club.

You will see me defend Walz, you’ll never see me defend Pitino.

Thanks for the suggestions, folks.
Congratulations, you passed! You have earned my complete support on any comments you may make!

Welcome to Connecticut: like most all other states these days, it needs your tourist dollars!
If you won't have a car, as others above said the main thing to see at UConn is, well, UConn. It's a beautiful campus, a real mid-western style land grant type campus, meaning generally low buildings and some rolling hills. A great walking campus. Visit the stables and dairy bar. Ask for a historical tour.
The restaurants aren't, to put it mildly, thrilling (the one owned by a certain coach is I guess the best, but don't bring really high expectations.)
If you do have wheels, the best thing within 30 minutes drive is the Wadsworth Athenaeum in Hartford. It has a serious, serious art collection and, since it's been completely renovated, has a terrific restaurant. I keep kicking myself for not seeing the Mark Twain house yet; do what LesMis89 says.
Get to the game early to see the kids warm up, and enjoy the game!

I used to be a big fan, but my last few times there, I thought the food went downhill.
I agree with Nan's Willington Pizza recommendation. The last time we visited after a game, Molly Bent's family was a few tables over and Molly eventually walked in. Then Azura Stevens walked in with her family. And the beauty of it was that everyone left them alone. Plus the pizza is really good.

I don't know that Connecticut has any must-see attractions in the area. You could always pull to the side of the highway right before the UConn exit on I-84 (exit 68) and take a picture in front of the exit sign that lists all of UConn's National Championships. If you can make the time, the Basketball Hall of Fame is right up Route 91 in Springfield -- not that from from the airport. There are some interesting restaurants in Hartford, but nothing necessarily worth going out of your way for.
