Ohio State lost to UConn and is #5, ND lost to UConn is #3.
It must be a honor to lose to UConn ......LOL

More like a "rite of passage". It appears that you don't get dinged in the standings for a loss to UConn either.

I think in a way it depends how they lose. ND gave UCONN all we could handle without Turner. USF was down by single digits early in the 4th quarter. tOSU on the other hand got pummeled, but because it happened so early out the gate, they've recovered. After all, they lost to only UCONN, SC, and ND. and SC and ND were close games...

Eric, I can't make out what that is in your new avatar. I'm curious, what is it ?

Losing to UConn is every opponents' "Red Badge of Courage" just as the struggle Henry Fleming fought to survive with honor on the bloody field of battle was. Perhaps not as sanguine, but the ultimate test of one's character nonetheless.

It's a kitten that was hit by a car and left for dead. I rescued him and the picture in my avitar is of him after surgery with his broken let wrapped as well as the fur that was torn from his body. He's doing great BTW but we have a concern about his paw on his broken leg - it's super swollen and he's back at the vet for x-rays to see if there's other internal complications...

Eric,I hope everthing turns out well for the kitten and congrats for helping it!Did you name the kitten?A lot of people wouldnt even bother. You are a Hero in my book!Thank You,ESD!

It is not just Uconn - OSU lost to Uconn, SC and ND and is #5- Maryland lost to Uconn and OSU and is #8. The OSU lost to Uconn was a blow out so it doesn't necessarily matter how you play. Voters do tend to discount losses to teams that they perceive as significantly better, just as they tend to ignore wins over outclassed opponents - what they do not like is surprises. And of course they also have biases which explains TN and Duke still being ranked - they just can't believe their eyes and suspect that there is a conspiracy of typos in the final scores of certain games.
