That is tough! Local high school [Enfield High] has lost in the state semis 4 years in a row....last night
to Hall in the LL semifinal game. Enfield has had a core group that was on the team all 4 years....they went from Class S up to LL over the years. Always fell one game before the championship tilt.
Mary Baskerville....6'3" center [Providence]....normally went for 18-20 points this year.
Of late she had 48 and 32 points in back to back games....seems like she was feeling urgency as her career ends.
She had 27 in the 56-54 OT loss to Hall. One problem over her career has been foul trouble [Azura??]
She missed time in the second and 4th quarter....didn't help the cause.
BTW: Enfield led 17-1 late in the first quarter. Yikes!
BTW#2: I suspect Providence has their center for the next 4 years.
BTW#3: UConn had some interest in her frosh year....Marisa and then Geno went to see her play.
That never developed further.
