They are saying Sue Bird will not play as a rest day.

45-29 SEA at the half

Stewart 15 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast

Seattle not missing a beat without Bird. Up 13 late in the 3rd. Bird/Stewart sitting out has set this team up really well for 2020. Players like Canada/Russell seem much more comfortable now they have experience playing longer minutes in the leauge.

Magbegor is going to be really really good too. An absolute steal at #12 last year. 6-4, great length, finishes well and great hands. Only 20 years old. If she sticks around a future frontline of Stewart/Ezi is going to be really difficult to match up with.

LA making a bit of a run to end the 3Q down only 10, 65-55 Parker leading the surge. Need to get Stewie back in.

Edit. Seimone Augustus getting hot. Killing Seattle. Lead down to 3.

Seattle holds on to win. Struggled a lot in the 4th. Canada has some really good moments and other really bad ones. Decision making was not very strong this game for her. Stewart was outstanding, 21 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, 4 steals.

Anyone know whats up with Howard? She's been a total no show so far.

Only thing I can say about Howard that I noticed was that she looks pretty winded. Especially compared to Stewart who looks as fresh as a daisy.

Also, Howard had a maddening tendency to try to lead the break but her handle is not good.

With Howard in foul trouble, Ezi got a crash course in playing defense, having to guard former MVP Nneka. She did a respectable job.

We had Stewie, and L.A. didn't.

Ezi is going to be a stud. I am guessing she will need to work on her range. Not sure I have seen her rake a shot far from the basket?

Wow! The Sparks just suck. They need to shake up their starting lineup. C. Gray is playing out of sync. and can't seem to buy a basket. Those opt outs are killing them. TRP needs to be on the bench to start.

Seattle has a player as we used to say MIA, Howard has been a no show when in the games.

Maybe get Ezi into the starting lineup? Wakeup call?

Ezi is eventually going to join Stewie in the starting lineup, but probably not this year. I expect she will continue to get more time as season unfolds. She was in at crunch time which says something about the trust they have in her.
