For the most part, I agree. But there's still something about an upperclassman being the unquestioned leader instead of a sophomore that seems more natural (like Kemba as a junior instead of a sophomore). This is just my observation from the couch, so I could be way off there.Interestingly I always felt Rodney deferred to Jalen and had no problem letting him be the alpha. That's rare between seniors and sophomores.
I'm excited with Christian and Jalen on the floor together because by the end of the season Christian had demonstrated he can be a playmaker with the ball in his hands. If Alterique comes back strong we have a good nucleus of guards and hopefully Gilbert can integrate quickly with the other two.
The bigger factor, though, is Vital's and Jalen's games seem to to mesh together better. Vital isn't a natural playmaker, but he's more of a threat to go to the basket than Purvis. Ollie's offense is at its best when they have multiple players who can break defenders down off the bounce. (Add in Gilbert, potentially, and they could have three of them.)
