Niels never scored that many points simply because he didn't put up as many shots as Omar.

Yes, Omar averaged 11ppg, but on 40% fg / 32% 3t and 32 mpg.

As I've said before, I still think he can be an effective scorer for UConn if he gets hot from the floor, I just don't expect he'll suddenly become something we haven't seen him be capable of before.

To put it simply, if he's not hitting his shots he's not going to play unless he develops anther skill.

Omar had 14 games of 5 rebs or more in his freshman season(that's almost half the 30 game season), I get that last year was a disaster but its been proven that he can do more than just shoot when he's on the floor, he gets after it on the glass.

Okay, he averaged more rebounds and more assists as a freshman than Niels did at any point in his career. How about that? Yes, more minutes. But the point is you're misrepresenting the kid's ability and completely whitewashing what was a pretty productive freshman year.

Rooting for Omar 100%. I'll never be down on a kid who's shown the loyalty he has.
